Yes but you weren't there at the host of the owners of an English side. You weren't flown on their private jet. And you weren't paid huge sums by the owner of a prem club.

The Federation of the Country involved requests the services of English Officials through The FA and the PGMOL. It is not direct from Club to Referee. In the 80s I was invited by USSoccer to be a guest referee on the NSAL
I expect this to be fully investigated properly now
If someone pays you the you are effectively working for them!

Mike this is still in the laws of the game Titled ‘Unfair Impeding’ when it takes place with contact it is a direct free kick or penalty kick. No contact it is an indirect free kick. The problem

The late Paul Alcock the referee was beside himself when he saw the replays of his stuttering comic like fall.
He said that he was caught of balance and was attempting to stay in his feet.
28 years to the day since I almost tumbled backwards… as I told astonished Radio 5 listeners that Paolo Di Canio had shoved a referee who then went sprawling. Such was the mayhem that erupted that I failed to see instantly that Arsenal’s Martin Keown was also sent off.

I am not a spokesperson for TheFA. I know that the clubs in the league where I am President that have brick or concrete barriers have been informed that The FA will meet the cost of their removal and replacement
A year ago today Billy Vigar died playing football because of a concrete wall barrier at a football pitch playing for Chichester City. This was not the first death or serious injury from such barriers, but the FA ignored coroner reports and concerns raised.
It's taken this tragedy for the FA to get its finger out and recommend such barriers are removed. Fair play to the Premier League for helping with funding (and the FA, with £281m sitting in its bank account too) but it is still too late for grieving parents and loved ones, and shows a strange set of priorities for the governing body.

Premier League and FIFA assistant referee Dan Robathan has retired from match officiating on medical grounds.
We’ve been supporting Dan with his desire to return to the field following a health issue that necessitated spinal surgery. Despite everyone’s best efforts, that has unfortunately proved to not be possible, but our hope is the surgery and recovery can still see him lead a healthy and active life for himself and his family beyond professional officiating.
Dan officiated in 203 Premier League matches and over 200 EFL and domestic cup fixtures, serving the game with professionalism and the highest possible standards week-in, week-out.
Thank you for your contribution to the game, Dan. We wish you all the very best for the future ❤️

At Penistone Church FC you can enjoy a pint in a plastic container no problem. At Twickenham they have holders that carry six pints!!
Has Mr Andy Burnham tried to put a 'glass' of beer down during a football match? Has he had to get out of his seat 20 times to let fans past whilst holding said beer, has he tried to celebrate a goal safely holding a pint. I could go on... just leave it alone

The law is being ignored and the grappling continues
It’s football not rugby. I’ll continue to say it the officials are setting a dangerous precedent in the premier league. They got many calls wrong already this season but the on field decision to give a penalty in this case wasn’t one of them. It’s not okay wrestling players.
