If you're vibecoding a B2C app, I’m probably more invested in your success than 99.99% of people out there (@RevenueCat only makes money when you make money) But time for a little reality check

It's Ship It: Idle Dev Tycoon—the pixel-art one about building and shipping apps for wild in-game revenue. Version upgrades and multipliers turn a basic flashlight into $14.4B/sec. Fun take on the app grind.

Does anybody speak Romanian? With 5 kids and one dog, the best possible life choice to make next was - obviously - to adopt another dog 😅 Meet Mochi, joining us from Romania

I wonder if it’s too late to build another app for #Shipaton Obviously, Ship It! is going to win the Conflict of Interest category (the only category @RevenueCat s can participate in), but maybe I should double my chances 🤔

Okay, that's wild
Day 53 of #shipaton - we have wrist off! You can now play Nitelore on Apple Watch exactly as Chris Nolan envisioned (when I asked him the other day). That’s one more platform checked off the list. #buildinpublic #gamedev #indiedev

Little over a week to go before @RevenueCat Shipaton's build period ends, and we get to the judging stage Funnily enough, we actually haven't announced (what I believe is) the best prize we're handing out this year 😅

🏆 Wake up babe, a new Shipaton prize just dropped Every Shipaton category winner that makes it to NY during App Week gets a spot in the Times Square Demo Day station on October 22nd While your app is up on the billboards, you'll get to demo your app and talk to random passers by, smack in the middle of the world's most famous square Getting the permits for this was a herculean effort, and - while you could buy a billboard quite easily - this'll be an experience that money literally can't buy Inspired by the @RevenueCat company value of 'Customer Centricity': You might have noticed that we go out of our way to find and connect with users wherever we can (it's why a bunch of us are on @X, it's why we go to a LOT of conferences, and why New York App Week exists) We do that because we deeply believe that that's the best way to build something meaningful That's as true for you as it is for us, so now you'll get to talk to a LOT of New Yorkers (and tourists) against the most photogenic backdrop in any city in the world Shipaton, App Growth Annual, The Shippies, New York App Week. All of those things are (always) exciting, but this might be my favourite thing we've ever tried to do Hope to see you there (still a little over a week left to get those Shipaton submissions in!)

Introducing Times Square Demo Day! 🗽 Winners of the #Shipaton and Shippies will be invited to showcase their apps to real people at booths we're setting up on Times Square during New York App Week in October (this is just a preview - not the final design)

Smart
< add promo codes for influencers to my app that lowers yearly price by $10 < see people typing in random promo codes that don’t work < tell Claude to make every promo code work < sell more yearly plans in a morning than I normally do all day It’s sometimes that easy lol

If you're generating revenue on Android, go to Play Console > Download Reports > Financial > filter on chargebacks right now Google will charge you $20 when a customer charges back an in-app purchase on the Play Store (in addition to taking back the actual earnings) To help you dispute those chargebacks, Google introduced the PendingRefundReviewNotification API And to help you actually use that API, we now support it in Refund Handling It's important to understand that this is not actually about refunds (for now: Google has said they might add those later) This is about saving yourself from the chargeback fee the banks charge Google, and Google will 1:1 pass on to you I know we tell you to not blanket 'prefer no refund' on Apple, but on Android (because these are not actually refunds, but chargebacks), I'd strongly suggest you just blanket 'prefer no refund'

(because: Clickbait I used $20, but the actual amount will differ based on the payment provider. Most commonly it would be around $20, tho 😅)

For the vast majority of apps, early access to their in-app earnings makes no sense There is exactly *one* scenario where they make sense, and - in that scenario - you should fill out the form at revenuecat.com/early-payouts yesterday: ✅ You're running paid ads, profitably, and your ad spend is constrained by the amount of money you have in the bank ❌ If your spend is constrained by the amount of money you have in the bank and you're breaking even, running more ads will usually just mean you'll start acquiring users at a loss ❌ If your spend isn't constrained, run more ads with the money you have now until you can't. If you're still acquiring users profitably, you can reassess ❌ If your spend is constrained by something other than money in the bank (lack of inventory, audience fatigue, etc), fix that constraint, run ads until the money becomes the bottleneck, and the reassess Even though we love it when you pay us (because that means you're making money, which is the whole point of @RevenueCat to begin with), paying for Early Payouts really only makes sense when it allows you to go (and grow) faster

.@RevenueCat's New York App Week, October 19–22, has reached the point where attending the full program requires 76+ hours From last year's "people were flying into NY, so they should have more to do than just App Growth Annual", it's now "a thing" This is what's happening 🧵

Thursday starts with a 5K with @runna, then live app feedback with @lickability, Apple Ads, founder dinners, a community meetup and Shipaton apps taking over Times Square (I don't think we officially announced that last one yet, so 🤫)
