It was your own SNP leaders that repeatedly described it as such, including then First Minister Alex Salmond and his deputy Nicola Sturgeon.
Salmond used the phrase in his foreword to the Scottish Government’s official independence white paper, Scotland’s Future (November 2013): a “rare and precious moment… a once in a generation opportunity to chart a better way.”
The document itself stated that “it is the view of the current Scottish Government that a referendum is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.”
Sturgeon said the same on several occasions.
Andy Burnham being interviewed by @STVcolin says Scotland’s 2014 referendum was “once in a generation”
Perhaps he could produce the legal document, signed by all parties, to substantiate this claim !
