With no physical copy (outside of code in a box) the orders are mostly routing through the Xbox and PlayStation stores so @ballmatthew likely has a good read on what the numbers actually look like for $TTWO
Tom, we are very happy with GTA VI pre-orders. The title is breaking records for XBOX, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market.

I find this article/headline misleading. While @RockstarGames has explicitly banned certain monetization tactics such as lootboxes, gambling, and crypto transfers if you read the CPLA the marketplace section states the following:
"Rockstar may provide one or more marketplaces (each a “Marketplace”) through which Rockstar and Operator enables Server Admins to purchase or acquire for incorporation in their respective Custom Servers certain Server Content (“Marketplace Content”) that has been made available in the marketplace by “Marketplace Creators,”"
So, there is/will be an official channel through which creators can sell UGC.
The modding rules on Rockstar's website explicitly forbid unauthorized commercialization of mods in its games, crushing the dreams of some would-be entrepreneurs ahead of GTA 6's release this November. bit.ly/4yN346h

GTA VI ($TTWO) not having a physical disk has caused a lot of discourse. I'd flag that physical retail and other bookings in 1Q27 (June quarter) were 1.2% of the total. The shift in consumption to digital is a consumer trend, I'd fade the noise on X and look at the numbers.

This exists for $U and $RBLX our view is that at the margin all of these advances in democratizing UGC gaming platforms are negative for $RBLX. They used to own the UGC platform space and even though they maintain the largest userbase they are no longer the only game in town...

A lot of people talking about why $APP slightly missing the midpoint of the topline guide matters so much, the answer is related to the guidance/beat history. Over the last 4Qs they've been beating by ~5% expectations get built around that pattern and when it breaks it matters.
