People have asked recently about favorite games I’ve called during my career. This one has flown largely under the radar, but it’s right up there. Mets essentially locked up the NL East title that series en route to the National League pennant.
9/8/2015 The Mets score six two-out runs to overcome a 7-1 deficit in the seventh. The following inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis hits a pinch-hit home run to put New York ahead. Jeurys Familia secures the victory with a double play with the tying and winning runs on base.

“This place is in shock and, frankly, so is this booth” is one of those calls that stands out in my memory. Such a fun run with this 2015 squad

‘15 was a special year. Too bad the Mets ran into the seemingly pre-destined Royals in the World Series. But they forged some great memories along the way.

Didn’t Drew Storen get thrown out there again the following night and give it up again?

I was doing a FF draft and this inning ruined it. And I am so happy it did. Damn…I wish they win that year. Think of all the legacies lost

I’ll forever stand on the fact that Terry Collins set his mid-July rotation to have Harvey, deGrom and Syndergaard lineup against the Nats out of the all star break. He out managed Matt Williams that whole second half, especially in the Labor Day week series here.

I’ll never remember this series. I was making videos on Facebook during the games so I have a lot of memories all the time pop up. I remember them getting to Papelbon in particular.

I really wish they had the clip of the game from 9/9 where you said “who needs Swoboda the Mets have Johnson” when he hit a pinch hit homer in the 8th inning like Ron did in 1969.

This was a great series. I was there on the 7th, which had the classic Wright fist pump at home plate, which was featured on a lot of 2015 highlights. What a year it was. I vividly remember your call of Wrights comeback HR against Philly, that was a moment! Thanks Howie

That 2015 team was special. A mediocre team at mid-season, stayed close long enough to get Cepedes, and the whole Wilmer Flores thing.

My parents used to make me turn every regular season game off after the 7th with some exceptions… this was one of those

You’re the best, Howie! I remember this, I was alone in Portugal for work and every night I’d stay up until the wee hours cheering alone. Incredible run. #LGM

I drove down for that game and ball flew right over my head. Drove back home 4 hours completely wired and up for hours afterwards with excitement. Greatest game of my life.

Every time Drew Storen would come in for Washington, I had a good feeling the Mets would score.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis had way more big moments for the Mets than he had any right to, and I'm grateful for it!

Fans are going crazy! With this spectacular victory the Mets are FINALLY out of LAST PLACE in their division. As Met fan Mamdani would say: ALLAH AKBAR! DEATH TO AMERICA!
