Some of you may remember Martyn, the bull who wandered into a Ukrainian military position in 2023 and ended up living with the soldiers for more than a year. Eventually, one of the servicemen took him home from the front.
Well, here’s what happened years later. ❤️
That soldier has since turned his home into a refuge for animals rescued from the front. Other servicemen can bring him abandoned animals they encounter and cannot bear to leave behind.
Martyn now has plenty of company: donkeys, goats, pigs, raccoons, geese, sheep, lots of cats and other animals, all brought back from the war zone and given a safe home.

The UN has responded to the situation in Oleshky—a city where people are eating grass, burying bodies in basements, and waiting for an evacuation that never comes.
Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, was asked whether the organization could assist in establishing a humanitarian corridor for civilians.
He explained that UN teams are attempting to reach people near the front lines and in the hardest-hit areas, and are working to ensure the safety of humanitarian convoys.
According to Dujarric, convoys from the UN, partner organizations, and the Red Cross have already come under fire. The UN pledged to continue its efforts to help the people holding out in their homes.
Oleshky is an occupied city located 9 km from Kherson. For nearly a year, residents have lived without adequate supplies of food, electricity, gas, or drinking water. The last food delivery took place on May 26; there is also an acute shortage of medicines. All roads and access routes to the city are mined, making the safe evacuation of civilians virtually impossible. Attempts by commercial suppliers to deliver food to the city have been met with shelling.
Ukraine has appealed to the ICRC and international partners regarding the evacuation of civilians, but no agreement on a humanitarian corridor could be reached. Russia, which occupied Oleshky in 2022, has not consented to this.

Oleshky is a European city in Ukraine’s Kherson region. It has lived under Russian occupation since February 2022.
More than 6,000 civilians are trapped in and around the city. About 200 of them are children. No food convoy has reached them since May 26. Russia blocks aid and evacuation.
They are starving. Using starvation as a weapon is a war crime.
To those who ask why Ukraine does not just give Russia the land it demands, the answer is Oleshky. Our people live on that land.
Every territory handed to Russia becomes another Oleshky.

People are eating weeds in Oleshky because there is almost nothing else left to eat.
There is no electricity, water or gas. Some people eat once a day. Shops are closed and medicine is scarce. Leaving means facing mined roads, with no agreed humanitarian corridor.
Around 6000 people remain there. At least 200 of them are children.

A strong investigation by the Financial Times. Its journalists dug into a huge leak from inside A7, the Kremlin-backed payment network, and it confirms what we have been saying for a long time about how Russia finances its war. What was an informed assumption is now documented.
Here is the essence:
Russia's oil export earnings stay abroad. Exporters, including Coral and Rosneft-connected traders, deposit them into the accounts of front companies and in return receive roubles inside Russia. The foreign currency then pays for components and other imports for the war. According to the FT, Rosneft-connected traders alone supplied more than $2 billion to this network.
Forged paperwork provided the cover. Inside A7 this was called "legend creation": invoices for "fuel oil" or "grain" delivered to an Algerian port. In one case, in August 2025, 39.9 million dirhams ($10.8 million) from Coral was offset by an equivalent rouble payment to Hurus.
The roles of the oil companies and traders, A7, third-country banks and Tether are confirmed. This is state-scale money laundering serving the war against Ukraine.
Here is what the response must be:
1Sanction every entity and front company exposed in the leak, and the people behind them.
2Apply secondary sanctions to third-country banks that keep servicing this network.
3Require stablecoin issuers, including Tether, to freeze linked wallets and cooperate fully with enforcement.
4Treat these flows as money laundering and document fraud cases, not only as sanctions violations.
5Banks should re-check past transactions built on similar "legends".
The U.S. government can do all of this now under the Lindsey Graham Russia sanctions law. The tools are there. What is needed is the decision.
Every dollar in this pool buys drones and missiles used against Ukrainians. Closing it is one of the most effective ways to cut the Kremlin's war financing.
