A Calgary resident has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of the brutal rape of a woman in the city’s Forest Lawn area.
Kepra Udup Bang, 27, was convicted earlier this year in connection with the July 2019 attack. The victim suffered severe facial injuries and spent eight months in hospital, including eight days unconscious in intensive care.
Justice Allan Fradsham described the attack as “a crime of egregious violence” and said it left the victim with significant, life-altering injuries.
Bang was convicted of aggravated sexual assault. He received credit for time already spent in pre-trial custody.

As a little kid in daycare, I watched some older black kids play a WWE game where I saw the boogeyman's signature entrance walk. I tried to imitate it in front of them, and they immediately burst out laughing. For weeks afterward they followed me around chanting
