At this point, I’m just hate-watching Ted Lasso S4. This shit is so bad. Even Gemini could come up with better writing than this.

It still feels like most SaaS verticals are only scratching the surface of what's possible with AI. Very exciting time to be building.

I wonder if Sol and Luna 6 are quantized models that managed to perform similarly to their 5.6 variants. I’m not seeing any meaningful improvement in performance, which is a bummer. The price cuts are great, though.

Fable, Opus, Sonnet, Haiku. Astra, Sol, Terra (RIP), Luna. This is the most straightforward it’s ever been.
These model names and especially the comparisons are becoming really confusing 😂😂

There's zero reason to buy this over the MacBook Neo or the Air. DOA.
Googlebook is officially here! I’ve been so excited to share the details with the world. Today, many of us rely heavily on laptops to get work done, but we think there is an opportunity to rethink the category to address the needs of people today. So we brought the best of ChromeOS and Android to create a new platform for laptops. Our initial focus with Googlebook is to deliver an amazing laptop that feels awesome for Android phone users. Here’s what to know about Googlebook 🧵👇

I'm sorry but screenshot apps feel stuck in 2018 😮‍💨 so i made one that's actually agent-first (literally no buttons 👀) oh and it uses your existing claude + codex sub hello moonjar 🌙

This is very exciting! I already have a ton of slow, expensive LLM calls for structured output that I can replace with this.
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI? I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev • 20-200x faster • 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free) • Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

A friend of mine has a saying in Farsi that roughly translates to “He’s a great guy, once you look past everything wrong with him.” Same energy here.
JUST IN: Anthropic says they’re highly profitable if you take out some of their biggest expenses.

Remember when everyone was begging OpenAI to release an open-weight model, then they dropped that garbage 120B model and suddenly nobody asked again?

There are three main levers here: performance, cost, and speed. If 4.7 is underperforming and isn’t what they hoped for, they’ve basically lost the performance lever with this model. And imo, speed beyond what 4.6 already offers isn’t that important. But if they can pull the cost lever hard enough and make it significantly cheaper, this could still be a huge model drop.

Grok 4.7 should be roughly on par with Opus 5.0, not 5.1. Better in some ways, worse in others. We need to fix multimodal performance. Grok 4.8 will be a noticeable improvement. Grok 4.9 is probably Astra/Fable class. Grok 5 maybe better than anything. We shall see.

The constant resets started around GPT 5.6 Sol because of how fast it burns through usage. Now Astra is 2x as expensive and everyone I know is burning through their weekly quota in a day or two. Something needs to change here.

Curious about the split in opinions on GPT Astra. Do you review the code it generates?

I don’t know how to describe this, but the model seems to be not as creative or good at pattern matching when it gets to problem solving as Fable? Without going too deep, I’ve been trying to solve a problem that could have very well been solved with pre-existing systems inside the code, while Astra has been trying to reinvent everything and overcomplicating the hell out of the codebase while Fable just suggests the simpler solution that works, is straightforward, and easier to implement. Probably has parts to do with it being more likely to overengineer, but it feels like it has to do with intelligence as well?

Also sucks at frontend design which makes it a no go for frontend work.

It seems like Fable is still better at frontend design. Astra is a step up from 5.6 but still can't design well.
