🚨 An @AbiyAhmedAli regime drone strike destroys school and @WorldBankAfrica-supported ICT center in Gijet, Seharti Woreda, Tigray Region, on August 26th
An Abiy regime drone strike hit a secondary school in Gijet town, Seharti Woreda, Tigray Region, at around 10 PM on August 26th, completely destroying the school. The school had served more than 500 local students since 2006/07 and contained an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) center equipped with 35 modern computers installed with support from the World Bank’s “3R” program. The ICT center was also completely destroyed.
Local residents and eyewitnesses said there were no military targets, armed forces, or military activity at the school at the time of the strike or beforehand.

A drone strike hit a residential area of Mekelle, the capital of Tigray Region, in the early hours of August 20, amid mounting tensions between the TPLF and the Abiy regime.
Amanuel Assefa, vice president of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), which rules the state, told AFP the drone hit the city of Mekelle early on Thursday.
“There was a drone strike today in the city. It targeted a residential area … I don’t have details on casualties yet,” he said.
An AFP journalist in Mekelle said residents had confirmed the strike. The strike comes two days after another drone strike was reported near Mekelle on August 18.

I am deeply appalled by the killing of Ahmed Yaqoub Othman, a volunteer of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, who lost his life on 10 June 2026 on the outskirts of El Obied City, North Kordofan, while providing first aid to people injured in earlier attacks.
Ahmed was serving his community with courage and humanity when he was killed. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones, and to his colleagues across the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
