When too much money flows into FD, the rates there will fall as they dont have that much demand for money due to background checks. People must stop posting on twitters as there are fools who do not think beyond a certin point.

Everybody with a huge corpus is feeling that FDs are a better option until the dust settles. I don’t expect much to happen in the equity market over the next two years unless there is a strong major catalyst supported by the government, which seems unlikely. Until then, it makes more sense to book profits periodically in the equity market rather than simply looking at it from a long-term perspective.

The feeling is normal when markets underperform. Nifty is at the same place since 2 years, meanwhile FD would have generated a minimum returns atleast. Some stocks are at the same place for 5 years of time too.

FD is key part of financial engine. It was almost disappeared from people’s investment plan in 5-6 years. It is making good comeback and gonna stay here for next few years.

One can definitely have some part into FDs- especially emergency funds as liquid or debt funds don’t offer instant withdrawal for emergency

It was never bad; only a few social media users were shouting about inflation & dollar-adjacent returns. The Indian Stock Market performance allowed them now to beleive "Bank FD Sahi Hai."

After tax, 6% FD gives only around 4% return which is very low. This doesn't beat inflation

+1 Considering the current situation, individuals may shift into fixed deposits because at least there is a guarantee of money. Experts have long sold other financial assets, arguing that fixed deposits fail to beat inflation; however, recent years have been so poor.
