Jammu & Kashmir 🇮🇳
A pivotal meeting took place today as the delegation from the Jammu & Kashmir Vocational Trainers Welfare Association, led by President Lone Jeelani, met with the Honorable Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah Ji. This meeting highlighted the decade-long dedication of vocational trainers and emphasized crucial reforms—integrating vocational trainers into mainstream education as per NEP 2020, eliminating third-party involvement (outsourcing), and establishing a clear job policy to secure the future of vocational trainers. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah for his graciousness, understanding, and unwavering support. His commitment to discuss our case with the Ministry of Education Honorable @sakinaitoo offers renewed hope to vocational trainers, who have endured years of neglect. This moment marks a vital step forward in our fight for justice, recognition, and a better future for vocational trainers across Jammu & Kashmir.

Jobs, Salaries & Security: Why Vocational Trainers Are Protesting Vocational trainers across Jammu & Kashmir have intensified their protest, demanding job security, a comprehensive service policy, timely salaries and an end to the outsourcing system. The trainers, many of whom have served in government schools for nearly a decade, say repeated assurances have failed to resolve their long-standing concerns. The protest has also taken a tragic turn following the death of a Kupwara trainer amid the ongoing agitation. Watch our report for the demands of the protesting trainers.

.@OmarAbdullah & @sakinaitoo, Thank you for showing people exactly how not to respond to the tragic loss of a Vocational Trainer. Bashir Ahmed was not just a “case” or a statistic. He was a father, husband, son, brother and our family member of Jammu adn Kashmir. At the very least, speak for Bashir. Acknowledge his family’s pain. Their loss deserves more than silence. And yes, thank you for showing people another way to protest against your government, your failures and the politics of ego. How much longer will the voices of your own people (@JKVTWA)remain unheard? #JammuAndKashmir

One of our VTs,Bashir Ah,died of a heart attack. He had been without salary for the last 6 months, battling severe financial strain while carrying the responsibility of his 3 children, his wife & his parents. This is not merely a death, it is a brutal consequence of a failed system.

Shame on you, @OmarAbdullah ! While you enjoy your luxury travels to places like Dubai, the poor vocational trainers of J&K are literally dying on the streets! The tragic death of Kupwara’s Bashir Ahmad Gojri due to a heart attack—after being denied his hard-earned salary for six agonizing months—is nothing short of an institutional murder by your failed @JKNC_ system. For 11 long years, these dedicated educators shaped the future of J&K's youth. Today, they are forced to protest peacefully for days at Floriculture Park, completely itheseaa by a heartless administration. Your tall promises of "dignity and jobs" are a cruel joke to the family Bashir leaves behind—his three children, wife, and elderly parents. The exploitative outsourcing mafia and private companies must be thrown out of Jammu & Kashmir immediately. Directly absorb thesea teachers, release all pending wages, and ensure justice now! #JusticeForLateBashirAhmad #DignityForEducators

Heartbroken by the tragic news that a vocational trainer, who had been without a salary for the last six months, passed away after suffering a heart attack. Behind every employee is a family that depends on that income for their basic needs, security and dignity. I humbly request the government to look into this matter urgently and find a concrete, long-term solution for vocational trainers. They deserve timely salaries and job security so they can support their families and raise their children with dignity and peace of mind. No family should have to suffer because of prolonged administrative delays. It is time for the government to act and ensure that such situations do not happen again @JKVTWA @JKVTWA_Anantnag @JkvtwaBudgam @JkvtwaGanderbal @jkpdp
