The only explanation is evil design, which has possessed political leadership. Another case study is Italy. My theory is that the reason Meloni has been acting so strange for a long time now, is because she finally understands that Islamists are close to using violence to succeed in disrupting Italy's peace. She thinks that by placating them, she can bargain for protection of Italy's society, and especially the treasures of antiquity. A student of history knows that strategy will never work. Several years ago Islamists gained control of an area of Afghanistan in which a Buddhist temple existed, and there was an enormous, millennia-old relief carving of Buddha in a rock face. Islamists unceremoniously destroyed this remarkable artifact, without a second thought. This fate is what France, Italy and other States have to look forward to. On a smaller scale, the same thing was even happening here in America until Trump came along. No one else was standing up to protect our monuments.

We have Presidents who stay in office for either 4 or 8 yrs. In general, we can survive bad Presidents (we've had several in the last 50 yrs). But I don't think we can survive corrupt Congressional Reps and Senators who stay in office for 30-40 yrs. TERM LIMITS on Congress must match term limits on the Presidency.
