I may be overdoing it with the befriending of Turkish cats. So much so last night one of these lads just walked in and slept in our bed FFS.

Richard E Grant either is every character he’s ever played or every character he’s played is simply just Richard E Grant. It’s hard to explain.

This bloke's English. I'm English. That's my nationality. English. I'm ethnically mixed race, of course. If you make assumptions about me based on the colour of my skin, you are being racist.
“If someone's going to call themselves English, I presume you've got an idea in mind?” What does it mean to be ‘English’? Watch Reform UK’s Suella Braverman and Labour’s Miatta Fahnbulleh debate on #bbcqt Watch now: bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00328g…

We love complaining so much that one of the replies is literally “it is not your plane”. Take a day off oh my god.

Finally, we independently tested the whole BBC News at Six TV package on the speech, since this sort of thing is how more voters would actually experience the speech in reality. All the major metrics increased significantly! Impressive.

Hearing a PM talk like this about fighting division and the far right in our communities means more than can be verbalised. instagram.com/reel/Dd8yp8Wjl…

Burnham has the reverse of whatever Starmer had in that whatever he touches becomes popular.

So very proud to have stood up to represent the co-operative movement and talk about our politics of optimism💜 the best is yet to come!
Our movement is one of radical optimism. Not seeing the world just as it is, but how it could be. Cait Prowle delivers our Sororal Greetings at Labour Party Conference.

You. Can. Just. Do. Stuff.
Feels like there’s something quite psychologically profound about daring to take on the triple lock and finding that the planes don’t fall from the skies, the horsemen remain in the stables etc. You can take on vested interests and the stakeholder state and it’s good!

Always frame politics to include your ends and not just means. Starmer would announce a tough medicine (say, winter fuel allowance) but would never answer the why, or just mention a conceptual altar like the black hole. This here is the excellent politics of trade offs.

doing this at the same time as conference is such excellent craic
Enough is enough. For years, people have been expected to put up with Avanti’s cancellations, delays, overcrowding, and a service that has failed them time and time again. So my Labour government is bringing Avanti West Coast into public ownership at the earliest opportunity in March next year. That means passengers, not shareholders, will come first. More investment, fewer delays, and a renewed focus on getting the basics right. We're putting essential services back in public hands and building a railway that actually works for the people who use it.
