Aaron Reitz, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas — Congratulations on your swearing-in and your commitment to combating violent crime, public corruption, and protecting the public.
My young daughter Charlotte, 7, has documented evidence of repeated physical abuse (dozens of injuries in healing stages, bite marks, strangulation indicators), outcries of physical abuse (forensic SANE exams and therapists), and ongoing medical/dental neglect. Despite this, she remains in the alleged abusers’ home under disputed court orders after CPS and local authorities failures.
***There have been numerous 5- and 6-figure monetary demands in exchange for access to my daughter — made by both the abusers and county officials. $300,000, $150,000, $86,000, $50,000, $36,000, $20,000, etc.
***The family also regularly travels out of state, creating a strong federal nexus.
This demands federal scrutiny:
• 18 U.S.C. § 242 (Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law): If officials willfully ignored evidence, failed to protect her, or used their positions for personal gain — depriving Charlotte of her constitutional rights to safety and due process — this is a serious federal crime. Penalties escalate with bodily injury and can reach life if aggravated abuse is involved.
• Extortion, bribery, or public corruption tied to demands for money to access a child.
• Interstate travel strengthens jurisdiction for violent crimes against children, endangerment, and related exploitation concerns.
State crimes (numerous Injury to a Child, Endangering a Child, Family Violence) are also evident, but the federal angles — especially official involvement and cross-state activity — fall squarely in your office’s wheelhouse.
Mr.
@aaron_reitz , I urge your office to review this case immediately. Evidence timeline, records of demands, and full package are ready. No child should be treated as a bargaining chip. Protect Charlotte and hold every participant accountable.
Share if you stand for justice and child safety. SaveCharlotte.
