Thx for the prayers — Turns out cutting out chunks of yer liver is no joke, man. Good news, bad news, and next steps… Good: big liver surgery last week successfully cleared out a bunch o cancer. (Pretty darn great — considering 9 mons ago, when told I had 3-4 months to live, surgery wasn't even an option.) Bad: Tests on the tumors show they were more advanced than we thought — meaning always-mutating tumors have developed some resistance tricks to our former treatment protocol. Bummer but that's life, and was eventually expected. Next: We're gunna change up treatment to carpet-bomb-chemo as much of the rest of the cancer as we can for a bit. Send chemo tips -- do NOT send more Nickelback promotional materials (am painfully aware they’ll be performing at the Hondo Rodeo Fest in Febr). I’ve always been a supporter of school choice and our ESA program to put parents and students in charge of their education. Katie Hobbs has tried to destroy school choice in Arizona and even vetoed a school choice tax credit to help families. Parents have a clear choice in this election. I’d be honored to have your vote for Governor and help keep Arizona as the best state in the country for school choice.

Florida now leads the country in workforce education. We have seen record-breaking enrollment in career and technical education, as well as tremendous growth in registered apprenticeship programs. Now, we are focused on expanding these opportunities so that more Floridians can benefit from them. Students enrolled in workforce education and training programs in Florida can now access the same federal financial aid funding available to those pursuing traditional four-year degrees. Workforce Pell Grants help students get credentials that lead directly to employment in high-skill, high-wage, in-demand occupations. Florida has more than 100 eligible programs, and these will now be more affordable for students throughout the Sunshine State.

Nobody likes to hear their schools aren’t performing well. The two options are to improve schools or to lower/eliminate the metrics. The latter is easier.

One in five Fairfax County students failed the state reading test this year. For low-income kids — 41% of FCPS — it was nearly two in five. The School Board didn't tell you that. A Fairfax mom did. Stephanie Lundquist-Arora is a parent, not a politician. For four years she has done the job the all-Democrat School Board was elected to do: read the budget, file the FOIA requests, publish the numbers. Here's what she's found: - 2,346 FCPS central-office administrators who don't work in a school. Combined salaries: $272 million. Superintendent Michelle Reid alone: $445,353. - $56 million in legal fees since 2020 — a record $12 million this year — defending the School Board's own controversies in court. - Enrollment falling. Budget growing. Teachers cut. Central office untouched. Michelle Reid isn't elected. She's hired and directed by the 12-member Democrat School Board, led by Chair Sandy Anderson. Every dollar runs through their votes. Her question is simple: "A school system's first obligation is to educate its students." So what did they do with the last $272 million? Read her article. growing up, the most patriotic woman i knew was a mexican woman who moved to america after her father was killed by the drug cartel. she wrote letters to the bush admin thanking them for supporting expanded legal immigration, her son went on to join the military — and she’s now a huge Atlanta Braves fan. i feel bad for people who can’t see others’ eagerness to study, work, and raise families here for the point of pride it is.
