Man arrested after allegedly attacking six Jewish women in Stamford Hill A man has been arrested on suspicion of an antisemitic hate crime after he allegedly assaulted four Jewish women on Upper Clapton Road in Stamford Hill, London, which is home to a large Jewish community. Jewish volunteer security organisation Shomrim also received a call from a fifth Jewish woman, who reported being punched in the face on Clapton Common, and arrived on the scene to witness a sixth Jewish woman allegedly subjected to the same treatment.  Video footage of the attack shows a man running up to a visibly Jewish woman and punching her twice in the face. We understand that witnesses detained the individual before police arrested him. This appalling attack is a violent reminder of the skyrocketing levels of antisemitism in Britain today. 96% of British Jews feel that Jewish people in Britain are less safe compared to before October 2023, according to our polling. A brazen assault on multiple Jewish people in broad daylight will only confirm to the community that its fears have been realised.
