Before Hurricane Helene arrived, converging winds pulled deep tropical moisture northward. A stalled front, upper-level low, and the terrain helped produce rounds of heavy rain across the Southern Appalachians for multiple days ahead of Helene. #ncwx #scwx #gawx

Behind every radar deployment is a team that makes it happen. 📡 Members of our radar install crew are featured in this story, helping install the new C-band radar now collecting data for the DUSTIEAIM monsoon research project in Phoenix. Built for DOE ARM, the radar is designed to travel to research deployments around the world, supporting scientists as they study some of the atmosphere's biggest questions. #Hurricane #Polo’s central pressure has fallen to 892 mb—the 2nd lowest on record for an eastern North Pacific hurricane (to 180°). Only Hurricane Patricia was lower, reaching 872 mb in 2015. Lower pressure generally indicates a stronger storm.

Weather intelligence isn’t just about business. It’s about people, too. For Esri’s Alexander Martonik, early insight into Hurricane Helene helped him make the decision to rebook his team’s travel before the storm disrupted flights in Orlando. In this new @Esri article, he shares how Baron Weather intelligence supported that decision and how Esri now uses Baron Weather feeds in its security operations center to stay ahead of emerging threats. It’s a powerful example of what actionable weather intelligence looks like when it matters most. Read the full story: baronwx.com/4zXnriR
