Do you know the painting by Thomas Roberts of the weir? It’s in the National Gallery, near the entrance if I recall correctly.

This post randomly reminded me of the ‘Suspects - Van Gogh Tricksters & Co’ exhibition of disturbing art that I went to in Arles. This Mike Kelley piece stuck me for ages afterwards. There’s something so disturbing and melancholic about his picture amongst the damaged toys.
JUST IN: Anthropic co-founder Daniela Amodei & her husband reportedly used a “personal advisory council” of stuffed animals with distinct personalities to work through workplace conflicts.

I’ll stick my neck out and guess two books you might. The first is The Leopard, which is a tale of a Sicilian aristocratic family in decline. The second is Now We Shall Be Entirely Free. This is a literary thriller, with revenge and redemption themes. Recommended to Celon too.

Impressive, but I feel strongly that the best quality group singing and harmony is by the Barrett Sisters of Chicago. Transcendent, awe-inspiring stuff. Tons of good albums, the one below prob my fav. ‘I Shall Wear a Crown’ with the Barrett Sisters and Billy Preston on YT 🔥
Harvard kids singing Radiohead’s “Creep.” This could have gone very wrong. Then the lead singer opens his mouth. The Harvard Veritones have won at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella — the real-world competition that inspired Pitch Perfect. Turn the sound on for this one.

I was tweeting that to Bunjil yesterday - just copy Rain and win. I like your cousin’s strategy of just upping leverage. He’s hanging around there like a jackal, looking to take a little meat from the lion.

Humility is both worthy and functional. One of its secondary benefits is learning to apologise easily and without pride. That might be an expression of genuine remorse, functional fence mending, or cynical self-debasement. Of all ‘virtue mimicry’, it’s the dark horse.

As you may have seen, the LAPTOP memecoin saw a sharp swing in token price during its first hours of trading. The headlines are all the same. Token down 99%. Rug pull. Biden Crime Family. The list goes on. This is far from the truth. The reality is that available liquidity could not sustain the strong level of interest at launch. Technical issues coupled with predatory "snipers", who seek to beat liquidity providers to market, caused a spike in price, which has since stabilized to healthy levels. The team's allocation is locked. Nobody on our side sold, and nobody could have. I, personally, have not made a single dollar. I'm used to legacy news and social media trolls spinning realities to fit their own narrative. The fully diluted valuation of the token is over $1 billion. And we're actively working on the best solutions to optimize liquidity and continue engaging my community. We gave free tokens to those who lost on Trump's memecoin. Somehow the media is painting that as a "failure". This journey is far from over. We built this community for the long game, and that's exactly how we're playing it. I'm going to keep doing what I do best: ignoring the noise, and reclaiming the narrative.
Community note
While the post claims the team's allocation is locked and no one on their side sold, onchain data shows a project multisig wallet received 100 million tokens (10% of supply) before launch and has since sold approximately 42.5 million of them. qz.com/hunter-biden-l… coindesk.com/business/2026/

I often think about this tweet from the king. Gold already up 40% since then. Three step plan: Saylor plays out ->Bitcoin to 500k -> profit. Once I get a breather from short term real estate development goals, I’m gonna add a bunch more bitcoin too.
When everyone shouts supercycle it can't happen. Gold ETFs come out and gold goes 5x over the next 8 years. We might just have something resembling a supercycle where the Saylor playbook is played to death, grind to 500k by 2029, and then 500k ->75k in a month as bid dries up

I can suggest many more. I loved Turgenev, for example - Rudin (short classic) and The Singers (my fav short story). Also think Celon would love Raymond Carver - very dark, totally original and unforgettable. Top pick - any of his short stories (several free online).

5) The Heart of the Matter, Graham Greene. The first brilliant novel on my suggested list. Penguin Modern Classic. Set in Africa and of outstanding quality, this is a deep and dark story of a policeman’s personal struggle. Incredibly atmospheric, but a bit grim.

(ii) The Mask of Dimitrios, by Eric Ambler Excellent, a slightly harder spy novel from the 1930s. Penguin Modern Classic. 2) Literary Thriller Now We Shall be Entirely Free, by Andrew Miller. Fast paced thriller, but also a deep character study of one man pursuing another.

I am such an idiot. Had Fleetwood in my final top 3 across models. And because I rushed and went through so many iterations, I mixed him up with my earlier third selection of Tom Kim and didn’t bet Fleetwood - who is now crushing 🤦‍♂️ Long way to go though.
Going for outright winner Burns, Matsuyama and Kim in the PGA in that order and with corresponding sizing. That’s based on input from several AI models and cross checking etc. @McNuggets_Kiss any picks?

Beautiful women in the area too. Pop down to Lavendou down the road for a swim. Recommend this beach - maybe a ten min drive or less. Water is immaculate, very calm and not too slanted for the kids etc. Safe for a swim and chillin. Also have a ton of recommendations for 🇮🇹

Bit of a long shot Frank, but this is fantastic. It’s the most well constructed rhyming poem I’ve ever heard - long, medieval, almost mathematical in structure, iambic, musical and hypnotic. It’s a relaxing and v rewarding listen. Intro interesting, but poem starts at 8.07.
