The security posture at a number of airbases with a USAF presence across Britain has reportedly even raised in the past couple of days, with plane spotters and other sources now saying that local law enforcement, at the request of the U.S. have limited and/or stopped traffic on many of the routes to bases such as RAF Midenhall, RAF Fairford, and RAF Lakenheath. The foliage up here in the UP is already fantastic. Even from yesterday to today, colors have gotten a couple shades brighter here in Ironwood. That said, because the UP lacks much in the way of dramatic topography, I must say that the Northeast seems superior for leaf-peeping. The forests here are almost like cornfields in parts. Can drive hours without seeing much more than a small hill. Whereas out East you're hard pressed to find a flat place. Still -- great to be in the UP for the fall colors, glad we came.
