THE QUESTION In May 2014 Jeffrey Epstein sent a young woman to meet Leon Botstein, then president of Bard College, supposedly so he could judge her singing. Two days before the meeting, an email went to Epstein from Botstein's Bard account. Reps. Jamie Raskin and Madeleine Dean quote it in a letter to the Justice Department and FBI dated October 7. DOJ blacked out his email address in the released files. It left her name unredacted hundreds of times. The letter asks for Botstein to be investigated as a possible Epstein co-conspirator. In July 2025, DOJ and the FBI said they had no evidence that could predicate an investigation of anyone else.
