The Libertarian Wing of the Libertarian Party.

United States
The @LPNational has new leadership, the core of a great judicial committee, and passed some key bylaws reforms including introducing electronic voting in the future. A new LPNH that doesn’t work for the Republican Party will be welcomed to affiliate status soon. It’s the job of all radical libertarians to work with their local, state, and national parties to keep the Party on track ideologically and support candidates with strong libertarian messaging. We hope you’ll join us in that work! Join your local/state lp, the national party, and *lastly* the @LPRadicals to move us onward 💕

#liberty indeed LPRC Platform Section 1.20 Protection of Privacy: "The individual's right to privacy must not be infringed. Governments must not use electronic or other means of covert surveillance of an individual's actions or private property without the express consent of the owner or occupant. Correspondence, financial transactions and records, medical records, legal records, employment records, and the like must not be open to review without the express consent of all parties involved in those actions."
Today the U.S. Supreme Court delivered an important victory for privacy and the Fourth Amendment in Chatrie v. United States. The Court held that law enforcement’s acquisition of detailed cell-phone Location History data through a geofence warrant constitutes a search because individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the comprehensive record of their movements. By extending Carpenter v. United States, the majority correctly recognized that this technology provides an intimate window into a person’s life, which is far more revealing than traditional surveillance, and that the government cannot simply treat it as unprotected third-party data. Geofence warrants function as dragnet tools that sweep up location information on countless people with little particularized suspicion. This decision imposes a necessary constitutional limit on that power. I welcome this ruling. The Fourth Amendment exists to protect individuals from arbitrary government intrusion into our private affairs. In the digital age, that protection must cover the data trails we unavoidably create through our cell phones. Liberty requires that we remain secure in our persons and effects, not subject to retrospective, tireless surveillance by the state.

#liberty indeed LPRC Platform Section 1.19 Civil Asset Forfeiture: "The only just case for involuntarily seizing another's property is to set right an injustice such as theft. Civil asset forfeiture takes the property of individuals before any criminal guilt is found and often deprives them of that property far longer than is reasonable, if not indefinitely. Civil asset forfeiture is legal plunder in the most literal sense; it is the law stealing that which it wishes without the burden of proof or the necessity of a crime."
At the end of the day, civil asset forfeiture is legalized theft. There's no good way to put a positive spin on a practice that lets government officials rob the public. reason.com/2026/06/05/most-c…

Now we are seeing more and more politicians saying we need to temporarily suspend the gas tax in their states to help lower prices at the pump during the Iran war. Here is a better idea. Just repeal the gas tax altogether.

Statement from members of the Libertarian National Committee re “Trump Dividend” September 10, 2026 Last night in Dallas, President Trump opened the Republican Party’s first midterm convention with a promise that every adult citizen would receive a $5,000 “Trump Dividend”—but only if Republicans keep both houses of Congress. That is not fiscal policy. It is vote-buying, announced on a national stage by a man whose record of broken economic promises is already long. The arithmetic is not mysterious. There are roughly 270 million adults in the United States. Five thousand dollars each is more than $1.3 trillion. The federal government already runs annual deficits approaching $2 trillion and carries a national debt of tens of trillions. The President offered no offsetting cuts, no credible revenue source, and no statutory path.  This is not a new habit. Americans were previously told they would receive $2,000 “tariff dividends.” They were told a “DOGE dividend” of $5,000 was coming. Those checks never arrived. The same pattern of grand announcement followed by silence or walk-back is already visible: within hours, the Vice President began qualifying who might actually receive the money. Libertarians know that prosperity does not come from politicians auctioning other people’s money in exchange for votes. It comes from leaving people free to keep what they earn, trade without political permission, and plan their lives without waiting for the next campaign promise. A $5,000 check funded by more borrowing or more taxes is not a dividend; it is a transfer that inflates the currency, crowds out private investment, and mortgages the future of all Americans. Voters are not shareholders in a corporation called “the United States of America, Trump Division.” They are individuals who already pay for the government’s failures. Offering them a fraction of their own confiscated wealth, conditional on handing one party continued power, is the oldest trick in democratic politics, dressed up as generosity. The Libertarian Party will continue to tell voters the unfashionable truth: no party that treats the Treasury as a campaign slush fund deserves another term of control. Real dividends come from lower taxes, fewer barriers, and a government small enough that it cannot buy elections with money it does not have. Signers (as of 9/10/26 4pm ET): Susan Hogarth, LNC Region 5 Representative Travis Bost, LNC Region 5 Alternate Olivia Hayse, LNC Region 7 Representative Keith Thompson, LNC At-large Representative Alex Flores, LNC Region 9 Representative Austin Martin, LNC Region 1 Representative Alfa Shaw, LNC Region 6 Representative Richard Longstreth, LNC At-large Representative Mimi Robson, LNC Region 5 Representative Sonja Feintech, LNC Region 1 Alternate Rose Leatherman, LNC Region 8 Alternate Michelle Wigington, LNC Region 7 Alternate Kelly Nguyen, LNC At-large Representative

#liberty indeed LPRC Platform Section 1.18 Safeguards for the Criminally Accused: "People must be accorded all possible respect for their individual rights until such time as they are proven guilty of a crime. The rights of due process, a speedy trial, legal counsel, trial by jury, and the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty must not be denied. We oppose labeling cases as civil in order to avoid the due process protections of criminal law and we further oppose pretrial seizure of property."
The Constitution guarantees trial by a local jury—not one 800 miles away. In the Abouammo case, the Supreme Court can reaffirm that prosecutors shouldn't get to shop for a friendlier jury pool. Cato's @foxmike90 traces this principle from the Founding to today. ow.ly/OpXO50YIQMR

This week’s medical news keeps coming back to one question: Who gets the final say? Government? An agency? An insurance company? Or the informed patient? Doctors practice medicine. Patients make decisions. Government should learn the difference. #MedicalFreedom

Just when you think he couldn’t sound any stupider, he comes out with utter nonsense like this. Imagine standing behind him and not rolling your eyes. Check comments for a bonus commentary by @DanForTexas
Trump: We could do tremendous good for ourselves by just not trading with countries.. We lose with Mexico $195 billion a year. They have nothing that we have to have, I mean. Hot tamales, tomatoes, a couple of things
Community note
The trade deficit is not a debt, it does not represent losing money to the other country. It means more goods were imported from it than exported to it. Why has to do with many factors, mainly the United States has more highly paid, skilled, and educated service workers. hoover.org/research/trade…

🚨 BREAKING: The Trump administration is reportedly drafting a plan pushed by JD Vance to give federal child care funds to married couples with a STAY-AT-HOME SPOUSE while the other parent works — NYT The program could be $9K per year for these families The goal: make it easier for married Americans to let one parent take care of the children, rather than both work and pay others to take care of the children This could create an incentive for parents to "stay at home with their children" Apparently, this is similar to a MARCO RUBIO proposal when he was Senator 👀 It sounds like this would be under current federal programs, not new laws passed by Congress

Libertarianism is about removing arbitrary barriers between people who want to peacefully engage with one another. It is the political philosophy that respects the individual and fosters social cooperation; that recognizes both the value of tradition and the advantage of change.

I really hate the ignorant cowards advocating for a prison state watched 24/7 by spyware. They call it “safety”… Yeah, I guess a prison cell is “safer” than liberty- but it’s not worth the trade off, and if they honestly believe it is, I’ll help pay for their emigration to North Korea. They’d be happier there, and we’ll be better off if they aren’t here. With our scary liberty.

As a matter of fact, fusionism is always destined to fail. You can not fuse two things that are opposites. Libertarianism is a revolutionary, radical ideology. It is about neverending change. There is no singular "end goal," but an infinite number of end goals, where each new person creates their own way, their own future, their own end. Conservatism is predicated on the idea that we must return to something, as it was the best. So-called anarchic conservatism, like Hoppeanism etc., attempts to push the notion that the return is to "nature," claiming that we must cast out anything the conservative finds "unnatural." Newsflash, sports fans, neverending change IS natural. Conditions are always changing, which drives each person to have a different set of conditions they're building from on TOP of their being a different person. This means there is no singular "best," nor was there. Libertarianism precludes a "return," a "best," or any other boxing of individuals. That is why the Paleoconservative attack on libertarianism is so silly: it's fundamentally incompatible. It is, by its very nature, an attack on libertarian ideology. If you don't want every single person to choose, for themself, who they want to be, how they want to be, for how long they want to be? You're missing the point of libertarianism. Yes, that leads to property rights, as property is an extension of the self. Yes, that leads to non-aggression, as aggression destroys the self. Libertarianism is about removing all barriers to the full-time creation of the self, for everyone, with everyone's work together to create the infinite selves.
