I was at some ravey event at the start of the 1990s and no. 2 here was being projected on a loop on a big screen. In hindsight that makes me think of how, until a decision was made to bleed 'em dry, the three Star Wars films retained a not-quite-underground-but-still-cult status.

Had to be in Bridgeton for a couple of hours this am so walked over to have a look. Despite its explosive end, a fine bit of the base of the demolished dyke on view at the bottom of a big trench! On the way I composed a joke about ‘Harvie’s wall bangers’ but didn’t deploy it.
Probably the most interesting thing I've done so far for the Glagsow's Doors Open Day Festival, which is on this weekend, is visit the archaeological dig currrently going that's looking for evidence of one of the walls in the East End of #Glasgow known as Harvie's Dyke.

Glasgow's other Garden Show: @The_RHS set up an offshoot of their Chelsea show at Strathclyde Park in 1997. Initially visitor numbers were good but fell enough for the event to be cancelled after the third year. Very little online about this, but the events manager was a 1988...

the monastic copyists to whom we owe a lot of the preservation tended not to copy them out. More mundane fragments may survive by accident (eg Vindolanda letters) but this is rare. There are probably very few 1950s suburban working class shopping lists in existence by now.
