XI VAN FLEET ENDORSES LILY TANG WILLIAMS FOR CONGRESS PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 23, 2026 CONTACT Todd Cheewing Todd@Ascent-Strategic.com WEARE, N.H. — Xi Van Fleet, author and outspoken critic of communism, endorsed Lily Tang Williams for Congress, citing their shared experience growing up in Chengdu, China, during Mao’s Cultural Revolution. The endorsement comes as President Trump hosts Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington today for a historic state visit. “My friend Lily Tang Williams and I are both from Chengdu, China. We each lived through the horrors of communism and Mao’s Cultural Revolution,” said Van Fleet. “Today, however, we see the same evils we thought we had escaped being embraced and promoted by the radical Democrats.” “But Lily isn’t standing by silently—she’s sounding the alarm. She’s running for Congress in New Hampshire and she needs all the support she can get to win.” Williams welcomed the endorsement: “Xi and I escaped communism and came to America because we understood how precious freedom is,” said Williams. “We recognize the warning signs because we have lived through them. I’m running for Congress to defend the freedoms that made America the greatest nation on Earth—and I’m honored to have Xi standing with me in that fight.” About Lily Tang Williams Born in China just before Mao’s Cultural Revolution to working-class parents, Lily Tang Williams immigrated to the United States with nothing and built a life as an entrepreneur, educator, and community leader in Weare, NH. A living embodiment of the American Dream, she brings a uniquely powerful perspective to the fight for freedom and limited government. In 2024, Williams won the Republican nomination and captured 47% of the general election vote against current incumbent Maggie Goodlander — coming closer than any Republican has in more than a decade to flipping NH-02. She is back and running stronger than ever in 2026. Paid for by Lily4Congress Committee ###
