No way on earth is inflation anywhere near 3%, at the supermarkets many items are up 50% in 2 year and still rising, we know Energy and Fuel are through the roof, so what is coming down to to get it 3% overall?

@realhansard stated “on benefits” thus condemning all as scroungers. This attitude needs calling out.

No, I don’t. Because the benefits they receive already rise with inflation.

I’m sure they will be fine then. 🤨

Do you believe young people who didn't get to pay 30k for a house (now worth 400k) and have to compete against the world for employment should pay higher energy costs/taxes for people on PIP for ADHD?

I don’t know anything about ADHD.

Why should people on benefits get cheaper energy?
EXCL: John Healey is planning a major intervention to cut energy bills for poorer households at this month’s budget. Ministers have become alarmed at forecasts which show bills rising by hundreds of pounds in January. The chancellor is working on plans to spend more than £1bn to help energy consumers, the bulk of which is likely to go towards increasing the discount given to households on certain benefits. Quite interesting that Jagaur as designed an open boot like the Rapide. But then not included a rear window… 🤔

I’m just puzzled by the seat configuration. The cockpit feel is good for driving in my opinion but as a rear seat passenger I want space and comfort. Who is this car design aimed at? It hardly has mass market appeal and Jaguar isn’t , or wasn’t, a niche manufacturer.

If you replaced the words “ on benefits” with “with disabilities” in your original post would you still be as comfortable with your opinion? Please stop condemning those less fortunate than yourself. Disability can affect anyone.

Why has Jaguar Type 01 got huge charging flaps ( I presume) on both sides? @ctrlaltrefuel Cybertruck levels of opinions for this vehicle I reckon.
Jaguar's new future has arrived. Meet the Type 01. If there is anything certain in our tumultuous automotive world, it is that upon seeing the newly revealed Jaguar Type 01 you will have an opinion. Likely a strong one. Jaguar design chief Andrew Wheel says that the new car is “The truest expression of Jaguar, in the context of today.” With the car now revealed, Jaguar has also opened the books to accept pre-orders from interested customers. But anybody wishing to kick the tires will have to wait until next year when full production is finally underway. It will also be around that time when we’ll get to finally determine if the driving experience lives up to the promising signs from pre-production encounters. What do you think about the Type 01's looks? Read our full story on the new Jaguar Type 01 ➡️ bit.ly/4yA2Obh

What are these “ads” that can’t be reported because they don’t seem to exist?

Online advertising is starting to cross a line. Click on one product and suddenly it's everywhere. Sometimes it feels like you see more adverts on social media than posts from actual people. Advertising used to sit around the content. Now it feels like the advertising is the content. We're not just being shown adverts anymore. We're being relentlessly targeted. 🇬🇧

Maddening to see the Conservatives pledging to scrap requirements for new homes to come with solar panels as standard ☀️ Solar on new homes should be a no brainier - cutting bills, and cutting our reliance on foreign oil and gas ✅ Another step backward from the Tories 🚮

So NESO ultimately closed the gap with a huge, limit busting amount of interconnector trades whose cost is not yet known And by paying up in the BM We went through the peak without drama. Frequency held up fine But we busted the interconnector trading limits (cost not yet known) and paid some tasty prices in the BM... Scroll to the bottom of the linked page and you'll see lots of trades just under £1000 /MWh The total balancing cost so far today is £14.75 million vs an average daily cost of £2.3 million. This excludes the SO-SO interconnector trades and the BM costs between now and midnight The system balanced but @neso_energy paid almost 6.5x more than normal to balance the grid plus the cost of the SO-SO trades AND it obliterated the intraday interconnector trading limit And it's only the very start of winter. Demand is well down on where it will be in December /January when the daily peak will be c45 GW and cold days could be as high as 55 GW We also don't know if the EU is going to keep allowing the interconnector trading limits to be breached. Presumably it had an objective in mind in setting the limit (it thinks system operators shouldn't interfere in the markets but should use market mechanisms to balance their grids). These objectives are not met if the limits are breached. The big unknown is whether the EU will keep giving NESO this flexibility or whether it starts to strictly enforce the limits @Miatsf @mgshanks @AndrewBowie_MP @ClaireCoutinho @harrietc @ColinMoynihanUK @drlukeevans @ashley7fox @TiceRichard @cmackinlay @DavidGHFrost @mattwridley @Iromg @AllisonPearson @MerrynSW @EdConwaySky @afneil @mattotele @jonathan_leake @julietsamuel @energygovuk enact.lcp.energy/
@neso_energy has cancelled the EMN Looks like demand is forecast to be lower Outturn at 3pm was a touch down on this morning's forecast... Outturn was 614 MW lower at 3pm than forecast this morning... NESO error in our favour. Imagine if it had been the other way round 😯 Amira's demand forecast is down 84 MW at 7:30pm and 42 MW at 11pm so tiny vs the 3pm difference I didn't note the BMRS forecast NESO uses this morning so can't say how much that changed It will be interesting to measure outturn vs the forecast We can also see the market is delivering imports to GB in the peak now. Looks like this is the main difference for the peak @Miatsf @mgshanks @AndrewBowie_MP @ClaireCoutinho @harrietc @ColinMoynihanUK @drlukeevans @ashley7fox @ColinMoynihanUK @TiceRichard @DavidGHFrost @mattwridley @cmackinlay @Iromg @AllisonPearson @MerrynSW @EdConwaySky @afneil @mattotele @jonathan_leake @julietsamuel @energygovuk
