Yesterday, multiple callers reported a horse trotted onto I-93 in Randolph from the Route 28 ramp coming from the Blue Hills Reservation area. Troopers Bouck, Clifford, Long, and Lieutenant Durant all responded to the potential hazardous, dangerous, and disruptive event for passing motorists. Luckily, trained bystanders were able to assist and calm down the stressed horse to keep it stationary. Troopers on scene were able to coordinate and locate the owner of the horse, and subsequent reunite with her horse. Prior to this event, the horse had bumped her owner off on the trails and eventually ran away. Once reunited, Troopers utilized their cruisers and provided an escort for the horse to navigate back to the trails safely.
