The Army announces the death of an active-duty Soldier who was supporting overseas operations in Doha, Qatar.
Capt. Bianca C. Wilkerson, 37, of Norfolk, Va., died on Sept. 18, 2026, as a result of a non-combat related incident. She was posthumously promoted to major. The incident is under investigation.
Maj. Wilkerson was assigned to Headquarters, U.S. Army Central & Third Army, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.

Today, I signed H. 3305, the Supplemental Appropriations bill, into law. Earmarks have long been part of the budget process, and we have worked over the years to make the process for reviewing them more transparent and accountable to the taxpayers of South Carolina. That has been an ongoing process, and we have continued to strengthen the review of proposed earmarks before taxpayer dollars are committed.
