Trust formally established to administer Jaffna Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre, comprising 4 ex-officio members: Municipal Commissioner Jaffna; Mayor Jaffna Municipal Council (JMC); Minister of Northern Provincial Administration; Secretary Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs, and 5 eminent experts representing Arts & Culture, Commerce, Education, Law, and Science & Technology, all from Jaffna. Built with 🇮🇳 grant assistance of USD 12 mn, the Centre was inaugurated in Mar 2022 and dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka in Feb 2023. The Trust now provides an effective transitional mechanism to make the Centre fully operational with financial self-sustainability, until it is handed over to JMC.
