The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Marksons Oboth, has called upon young people to embrace education, innovation, and integrity as they confront the challenges of unemployment, poverty, inequality, and exclusion.
Speaking as Guest of Honour at the Makerere University "Run the Hills for the Future" Marathon, the Speaker, himself a former Makerere University student and resident of University Hall, noted that the marathon's theme serves as a reminder that every worthwhile achievement requires determination and perseverance.
He commended Makerere University and its Endowment Fund for utilising the marathon to support the Disability Support Unit and economically disadvantaged students, observing that every kilometre run should contribute to health, education, inclusion, and opportunity.
