We are all one, but we are not all the same.
There is a major blind spot and oversimplification around the metaphysical idea of “we.”
We often hear about the “human family” and how everyone has the potential to awaken, heal, and become more loving and conscious.
But who exactly are “we”? Are we really all the same inside?
Most people automatically project their own capacity for conscience, empathy, remorse, and love onto others, assuming that anyone who behaves destructively must simply be wounded, traumatized, misguided, or in need of healing, or that they just need to be taught moral principles and Natural Law.
But this assumption can make us extremely vulnerable to manipulation by predators in human form.
There is an intra-human species that has no capacity for conscience, empathy, or any feelings of guilt or remorse.
Most often, it is an inborn deficiency and is not related to any trauma, upbringing, or wounding.
From an occult perspective, they can be direct incarnations of hostile beings and Asuras.
I'm talking about psychopaths, individuals whose psychological makeup is fundamentally different but who can appear perfectly normal, charming, intelligent, and trustworthy.
They are not necessarily serial killers or violent criminals. Many of them function in everyday society, in relationships, workplaces, spiritual and religious communities, and positions of power, hiding behind what psychiatrist Hervey Cleckley called the "mask of sanity."
Some of the descriptions repeatedly used by Cleckley in his famous case studies of psychopaths are: “Likeable,” “Charming,” “Intelligent,” “Confidence-inspiring,” and “A great success with the ladies.”
But there are female psychopaths as well.
The untroubled self-confidence of the psychopath seems almost like an impossible dream and is generally what “normal” people seek to acquire when they attend assertiveness training classes, self-help, and motivational programs.
But the psychopath is not the only danger in society.
More and more people have taken on psychopathic values, beliefs, and behaviors that have become normalized in society through the process of ponerization and are even rewarded.
You find this pathology of psychopathic infection among masses of "normal" people across the board, from the woke left to the conservative Christian right, and even in anarchist communities and the freedom movement.
In our new episode of The Cosmic Matrix Podcast, Laura and I explore psychopathy and its far-reaching implications for individuals and society as a whole.
