when i worked in a digital bank in ireland, customers loved our awkward and clunky 2fa device because it made them feel safe. now almost 20% of adults avoid buying some things online because of scams. before you cut another step to make paying faster, try showing them the one that keeps them safe. don't hide your security steps... show them off.

If you sell information don't give the answer away in the ad instead show people there's an answer they don't have.

in china one person in guangdong pays about 30 yuan for someone in hangzhou to drink a cup of milk tea and post him the city only fridge magnet that comes with it. others pay strangers to build their lego or visit a sick relative. sounds lazy but what if your freebie is worth more than your product to someone. find out which part of your offer people would pay a stranger to get for them because that part is your real product.

your best leads are sitting in your cpmpetitors 1 star reviews. carl's jr in new zealand will swap any 1 star review you left at another burger chain for a free burger. upload the screenshot, get a voucher. ok this might get gamed but if done right it has potential.

That's the way smart people do it, at least...
i'd even go so far as to say marketing is what you do before building.

unpopular opinion: - marketing is not what you do AFTER building - marketing is a PART of building

what's the most embarrassing part of trying your product for the first time? gymnation found 47% of people avoid the gym because they're scared of being watched. so it turned the lights off. a 45 min class in total darkness with no mirrors.

i think it gets harder for new brands to stand out but easier for big brands to stay big. if you ask an agent for new runners it'll most likely reach for the brands it's heard of most, so the big names get a shopper doing their marketing for free
the internet is already 100x more competitive than irl cuz it largely collapsed constraints like geography, time, & liquidity. so now you’re competing with basically everyone in the country or maybe even the planet for attention, jobs, customers, status, dates, etc. if you add agents on to this equation you can add an order of magnitude on top of this because agents don’t require effort either. so you’re now potentially also competing with someone’s agent esp for high demand low supply things.

i think packaging is the most underused media most brands already own for the first time the laughing cow, the cheese with the grinning red cow on the box took her smile off. packs in over 4k us stores showed a gloomy straight faced cow saying we need to talk. i'm a sucker for mysterious campaigns. any one know what we need to talk about?

this is the kind of marketing i like most, because it proves the claim instead of just making it. chinese appliance brand haier saw a blogger complain that her 1997 dishwasher had gone noisy. so they shipped it back to the factory and spent 21 days restoring it. then they used the video to launch a trade-in deal on new ones. the best ad for a new dishwasher is proof the old one lasted nearly 30 years. the only problem is that some people now say the old one was better. daoinsights.com/news/haier-d…

that feeling that you're crazy is usually just you being early. in marketing early is where the advantage is. by the time a pattern is obvious to everyone it's too late to win from it.
Pattern Recognition is the form of intelligence that causes the most stress. You will see things that others do not. You'll feel crazy. Things will be *so obvious* to you, and others will just deny it.

this sounds like a really good idea. cloudflare is testing a gateway that charges ai agents a fee each time they visit a site paid in a dollar stablecoin with wide release planned for early 2027. decide which pages bots get free and which they pay for. searchenginejournal.com/clou…

if ai is binge eating away at your brand's value fight back with creativity. this fiverr campaign is clever. it's a spoof luxury skincare brand and the active ingredient is freelancers. the anti-aging kit comes with $250 of fiverr credits to book an expert freelancer who'll remove the wrinkles from any of your photos.
