We got a rather dramatic demonstration of that during WWII, when millions of men went off to war and women stepped into factories, shipyards, transportation, agriculture and other essential industries to keep the country running.
Men and women need each other BUT we donβt need to diminish womenβs contributions to civilization to make that point. That actually undermines an otherwise good message.

Everybody needs to simmer down about Virginiaβs purchase, possession, or transportation firearm bill (VA HB 1525).
What this bill states: under 18 canβt possess (except at home/property, hunting, range/training with an adult, or on-duty military/law enforcement), 18β20 can possess but canβt purchase handguns or defined βassault firearms,β and 21+ can purchase.
Federally, you must be 21 to buy a handgun from a dealer and 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun. Also, Federal law is more restrictive concerning permission/supervision:
βA juvenile may possess a handgunβ¦ if the juvenile has the prior written consent of the juvenileβs parent or guardianβ¦ and the juvenile is under the supervision of the parent or guardianβ¦β
VA HB 1525 definition:
βAssault firearmβ means any (i) semi-automatic centerfire rifle or handgun that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine that will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock or (ii) shotgun with a magazine that will hold more than seven rounds of the longest ammunition for which it is chambered.β
