Rant about TGL:
Shane Lowry wasn't "traded". There was no expansion draft.
First of all I was wrong about TGL, I said it wouldn't work, and I honestly found it way more interesting then I thought I would.
Horschel and others were great on there. It wasn't must watch TV for me, but I would turn it on when I was home.
The designs of the holes got more interesting as the year went on, players got more comfortable, etc.
But don't insult our intellingence to think that GM's got on the phone and went back on forth trying to figure out how many "draft picks" would be equal value for Shane Lowry. If they are trading draft picks...where was this years draft? Who was available? Who got cut? Who got drafted to what team? Why wasn't it streamed.
No, of course they didn't. Don't try to tell us differently. Rory wants to play with his buddy. I totally get that. Because its a fun simulator league. And that is what it should be.
And the product will likely be better with Rory playing with his best friend. More likely to say what he wants, more likely to talk shit. More likely to give Shane shit for bad shots etc. All of that would be great for TGL imo.
And dont' tell us teams got to protect players in an "expansion draft." This is an actual quote...."Since all other teams kept one player, Motor City used the next selection to add Jackson Koivun"
You are trying to tell me that Los Angles said "I'd rather protect Collin or Tommy or Justin Rose instead of getting one of the most exciting young players in recent memory???"
They didn't. There is just no way all the teams passed on him. And thats because the teams are already set with players that want to play with each other.
And thats ok too.
I'm not saying players don't want to win, I'm just saying its played on simulator with players hitting shots over volcanos and under rocks (both are great). Lets have fun with it.
Please no more serious press releases announcing "trades".
Rant over.
