The problem with Leftist "philosophers" is that they only ever engage with the surface level aesthetics of Fascism while ignoring its actual functionality.
To them, being clean, organized, and disciplined while recognizing that humans aren't indistinguishable grey blobs and treating the military as something worthy of respect- rather than an inherent evil- is Fascism.
But that isn't Fascism. That's just a run-of-the-mill functional society.
Meanwhile they're perfectly fine with the idea of "All within the State, Nothing outside the State, Nothing against the State" so long as *they're* in charge of the State and get to arbitrarily punish their enemies.
They'll even cheer for blood & soil nationalism so long as the beneficiaries are sufficiently melanated.
Modern day China is functionally indistinguishable from pre-war Nazi Germany in terms of economics, expansionism, racial nationalism, ethnic cleansing, and totalitarianism, but every Leftist simps for China and wants to emulate their government here.
It's purely performative.
They don't hate Fascism.
They just hate their dad.
The common claim that Starship Troopers, 40K, and StarCraft are “satires of fascism” is mostly modern reinterpretation
Starship Troopers (1959) was not intended as fascist satire. Heinlein was seriously exploring his ideas about citizenship, military service, and civic responsibility. The 1997 movie deliberately turned those ideas into an anti-fascist satire
Warhammer 40K uses religious and authoritarian imagery, but its original premise was more grimdark parody and absurdist military sci-fi: everyone is horrible, everything is excessive, and the Imperium is deliberately dysfunctional
StarCraft inherited that military sci-fi aesthetic. The Terran Dominion is authoritarian, but StarCraft was primarily pulp space opera, not an elaborate critique of fascism
Using authoritarian military aesthetics doesn’t automatically make something a satire of fascism. To claim otherwise cheapens the work of people who are actually trying to critique and satirize fascism
You’re simply reinterpreting the work through a modern political lens and attributing an intention to it that was never there
