You know they say virtue is preferable to vice, but you look at a competent founder and you look at 99% of political leaders, business leaders, and companies, and you can see that statement is not true.
See, normally if you attempt to build something, you have a 50/50 chance of getting anything done. But I am not a normal entrepreneur. I think in terms of secrets and monopolies. So if you are evil and at least competent, you have a 25% chance, at best, of being stopped.
Then you add the other 99% of totally incompetent people to the mix, and your chances of achieving anything drastic go down. See, in a three-way contest between good-but-incompetent, evil-but-incompetent, and competent, you have a 33 and 1/3 chance of mattering. But I have a 66 and 2/3 chance of mattering, because the incompetent know they cannot execute and they are not even going to try.
So take their 33 and 1/3 chance, minus my 25% competence advantage, and they have an 8 and 1/3 chance of producing results. But then you take my 75% chance of winning if we were to go one-on-one with reality, and add 66 and 2/3 percent execution, and I have a 141 and 2/3 chance of actually getting something done.
The numbers don’t lie. They spell disaster for the 99%.
