Llareggub. A 4mm scale model by Dave Rowe which inspired my modelling way back in the 1970's. It was destined to be thrown in a skip, but it was spotted by another enthusiast and saved and now resides at the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway at Llanfair Caereinion.

I’m sharing this with the world because it made me a little emotional, and Lucas (aged 6) who loves @tfl Underground, drew it specially and came up after my talk at @ltmuseum Covent Garden to give it to me. It’s his local station, Clapham Common. The dome! Arches! Those steps, island platform & central roundels! Brake lights! Pickups! It’s all there. It is smashing, it reminded me of so many good times, and I will keep it forever. Thank you ALSO to the full house who were able to came along to listen - and in some cases contributed - to today’s #Piccadilly120 talk: that you trusted me with your time was a privilege. Cheers to Molly & Gio at LTM; and for those of you who weren’t able to attend in person (and who asked, so I passed on your requests) there’s hope that next year there might be some opportunity for live-streaming talks too. A lovely day, a smashing audience, and a chance to talk about a London railway with so many stories to give. Happy 120th birthday, the Piccadilly line!
