There is no genocide in Gaza. There is a war started by Hamas.

Evyatar David survived 738 days in Hamas captivity in Gaza — starved, abused, and forced to endure horrific conditions. Nearly a year after his release, the ordeal is still with him. In a new interview, Evyatar described waking from nightmares, experiencing sudden flashbacks, and carrying memories of captivity into his daily life. He also recalled being starved for months while his Hamas guards ate and drank in front of him. Evyatar’s story is a reminder that the trauma of captivity didn't end when the hostages were released. We will continue to remind the world what they endured and demand accountability for Hamas' actions.

Nearly three years after Hamas' brutal attack on Israel, the trauma of October 7 continues to claim lives. Bar Asraf died by suicide at the grave of his beloved girlfriend, Liron Barda — a hero who stayed behind during the Nova Music Festival massacre to administer first aid to the wounded until she was murdered. Bar's death is a heartbreaking reminder that, for the families and loved ones of the October 7 victims, the tragedy didn't end that day. The psychological wounds run deep and the fight to support those living with catastrophic loss is far from over.

This is the reality that Jewish New Yorkers are facing on a daily basis. When irresponsible rhetoric, selective condemnation, and political indifference allow anti-Jewish hate to become normalized, people suffer. Antisemitism is an attack on the values and institutions of a democratic society, and we cannot allow it to threaten the safety of the Jewish people. Not in New York. Not anywhere. jns.org/news/u-s-news/anti-j…

Here's what the "pro-human rights" crowd won't say: the UN is a joke. Guterres and his left and liberal fan club in America and Europe are the biggest embarrassment to democracy while Iranians are being slaughtered. If you're shouting "Free Palestine" from your comfortable place in the West, at least listen to our real story, we carry the wounds of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the IRGC. At #AJCGloFo 2026, @AlinejadMasih, one of the world's most courageous voices against the Iranian regime and its destructive activities throughout the Middle East, delivered a powerful message about confronting the forces of extremism and terror that oppress millions from Tehran to Gaza and have brought devastation to Israelis and Palestinians alike. We honored her with AJC's Moral Courage Award in 2022, and we were proud to welcome her back amid this consequential moment in history.

Today at #AJCGloFo, we posthumously present the AJC Ofir Libshtein Bridge Builder Award to Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky. Sarah was an @AJCACCESS leader, an alum of the AJC-Mimouna Sachs Fellowship, and served at the Embassy of Israel in the United States. Yaron also worked at the embassy. They were murdered after leaving an AJC event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. Sarah and Yaron believed that even in a divided world, bridges can still be built where others only see walls. Cruelly, their lives were taken by the very hatred they sought to confront. We will never forget them.

In his post sharing a one-sided video about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Mayor of New York City fueled real world harm. At a time when Jews are being attacked in the streets of New York and worldwide because of antizionist narratives, amplifying misleading content doesn’t just distort public understanding, it puts the Jewish community at further risk.

They tried to boycott him.
They booed him.
They hated on him. And he sang anyway.
He shouted “Am Yisrael Chai” for the world to hear. And he took second place. Because the loudest voices are not the majority. Mazal tov, @NoamBettan!!! 🇮🇱❤️

Yesterday, the New York Times published an op‑ed alleging Israel trains dogs to rape prisoners—a modern-day blood libel in the “paper of record.” Allegations of abuse toward Palestinians deserve serious, rigorous investigation. Yet this piece, while opinion, appeared to be presented as an investigative report and fell alarmingly short of that standard while amplifying inflammatory narratives that have real-world consequences in a time of surging hatred toward Israelis and Jews worldwide. As one reader astutely commented: “We shouldn’t have to choose between caring about Palestinians and expecting rigorous journalism from the New York Times.”

At a forum on antisemitism in London, @UJS_UK President Louis Danker addressed Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer and other political and civil society leaders with urgency about the reality facing Jewish students and the broader British Jewish community today. Jews are being targeted, harassed, and physically attacked because of who they are—on the streets, on campus, and in places of worship. As antisemitism rises, his message was clear: inflammatory rhetoric and dangerous incitement are translating into real-world violence. Now is the time for leaders to act decisively to ensure that Jewish communities can live safely and proudly. youtube.com/watch?v=F9udLMbZ…

Key findings from our just released State of Antisemitism in America 2025 Report: - Over 9 in 10 of American Jews feel less safe as a Jewish person in the U.S. as a result of 3 major attacks on American Jews in 2025 - More than half change behaviors due to fear of antisemitism - For the first time in our survey’s history, 7 in 10 report experiencing antisemitism online The arson attack against @GovernorShapiro in PA, the murders of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky in D.C., and the murder of Karen Diamond in Colorado were among the most violent examples of attacks on American Jews last year. But these were not isolated incidents. 78% of American Jews report feeling less safe as a Jewish person in the U.S. because of the Hamas terror attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the subsequent Israel-Hamas war. The full report has the bigger picture of how antisemitism is directly impacting Jewish Americans and their sense of safety: ajc.org/news/ajc-report-afte…

Today, the last hostage in Gaza, Ran Gvili, is home. Ran was a special forces officer who was at home on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked. He quickly joined his team and fought off dozens of terrorists until he was murdered at Kibbutz Alumim. His body was taken hostage and held for more than two years. Now, he has finally been returned to Israel. Ran is remembered for his selflessness, kindness, and big heart, and he will forever be honored as a hero who defended his country. May his memory be a blessing.

After today’s antisemitic attack on Jews celebrating Hanukkah in Australia, the simple act of lighting candles carries added meaning. It is a reminder that Jewish life will not be intimidated or erased. Tonight, to show solidarity with the Australian Jewish community, we urge those celebrating Hanukkah to share a photo of your lit menorah, and we welcome and encourage allies to share a photo of a lit candle. Use #LightforAustralia when you share your photo. Let each light be a signal of solidarity, remembrance, and an unwavering commitment to stand against anti-Jewish hate.

Horrified. But not surprised. Bondi Beach is one of the most beautiful places in the world. And Jewish kids celebrating the joyous holiday of Hanukkah with their families is likewise one of the most beautiful images of our people. Both have now been ripped to pieces. Sickened. But not surprised. Everywhere across the Jewish world, we are mourning the loss of our family in Australia. We are praying for the families who lost loved ones. We are praying for a full recovery for the injured. And we are sending every bit of strength and resolve that we can to our dear friends in the incredible Australian Jewish community. Devastated. But not surprised. I celebrated Shabbat at Bondi Beach in September during our visit to Australia. Together with the Australian Jewish community, we warned government officials and law enforcement that their failure to take meaningful action against antisemitism could lead to more violence and bloodshed. That the community was at risk. And that Australia’s reputation in the United States and the world was at stake. And here we are. The response from Australia’s leaders must be strong. Not just statements, but bold action. From the Prime Minister. From state government leaders. From law enforcement. And from Australian society. This cannot be tolerated. We will not just move on from this. Not in Australia or Europe or America. Antisemitism is a threat to all of society everywhere in the world. It’s not only the Jewish community that’s at risk if leaders fail to respond. This week, we will be reaching out to leaders from around the world to unite around a shared commitment to eradicate the evil scourge of antisemitism. Take our call. Stand with the Jewish community. But don’t wait to speak out. Do it today. Wherever you live. If you are a leader, then lead. Stand with your Jewish community where you are. Yes, reach out privately to your friends in the community to express your support. But speak out as well for all the world to hear. Everyone who looks up to you needs to hear you condemn the antisemitic slaughter in Australia and the ongoing threats to our community everywhere. We are 16 million people in the world. We cannot do this on our own. Stand with us. We will not back down after the tragedy at Bondi Beach. We will continue to stand proudly as a Jewish community, just as we did after the murders outside our AJC event in Washington and after the murder of a Holocaust survivor at rally for the hostages in Boulder, and after the Yom Kippur murders in Manchester. Just as we have since 10/7. Just as we have throughout thousands of years of hatred against our people. Tonight when we light the first candle of Hanukkah, we will mourn the tragedy in Sydney. And we will celebrate the continuing miracle that is the Jewish people.

I am utterly sick of Jews being hunted and murdered in the streets. What year is this — 1939? The West needs to get its act together, fast. This is the inevitable end point of radical antisemitic and anti-Israel rhetoric: Jews paying in blood. Enough.
