Yesterday, NCOA staff joined our partners at @ACLgov at the annual Falls Prevention Health Fair, hosted by the Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Alliance alongside @VHCHealth & Arlington Parks and Recreation.
Older adults lose billions of dollars each year to scams and fraud, making scam awareness and prevention a key part of aging well.
Today, NCOA's Jessica Johnston joined the @AmSavEdCouncil and @BPC_Bipartisan for a conversation about preventing scams.
While preventing scams requires system-wide changes, there are steps we can all take to help protect ourselves & others:
✅ Pause before you respond & verify the contact
✅ Never pay with gift cards or cryptocurrency
✅ Never share sensitive info
✅ Use strong passwords
