This Ape has and will ALWAYS be to me the prize of my entire collection and maybe the most loved thing I own bar none. It was my first big purchase years back and means S0 much to me. 🍊 has always been my fav color and the prison jump suit was a reminder of when I was locked up by the Feds years ago. Today I’m giving it as a gift to @0xquit for basically saving the space for all of us last night. I was lucky to not get drained but many of my friends did. His selflessness and generosity is what I inspire to be. When I get home from work will transfer my orange 🧡 to him. It’s definetly going to the absolute best of humans …. I know my ape will now be in the home where he belongs 🙏

if you’re selling your credits for $80, you’re selling for peanuts let’s do the math: > statements assembly opens oct 1st > only 1,526 statements will exist, while we have 122,153 credits in supply > 122,153 supply / 80 credits = 1,526 statements > that means you’ve to burn 80 credits to get 1 statement > less supply = more demand. more demand = higher prices credits floor price is currently $80. i expect solid 3 figs once whales start bidding plus never fade @jackbutcher collection. i’ll be holding onto my 2 credits nfa
statement arrangements will open in 8 days, on 10/1 you can make one statement with any 80 credits I'll update this thread with how statements will work

I had a major shift in my worldview recently. The first topic I want to unpack: transparency vs. privacy. I’ve been in crypto 8 years, helped 2 privacy projects (@EspressoSys when it was a ZK L1, @fhenix back when it was an FHE L2 on ETH) and put on a number of privacy & encryption focused events. I supported privacy, but TBH, I only understood it in a “cute,” abstract, and intellectual way. I grew up middle class in the US (yes I'm a citizen). I’ve always operated under the assumption that most people in the world (US + abroad) are good / kind and just want to do right by their loved ones. As long as you don’t give anyone an incentive to harm you, most people will leave you alone (or even help you if they like your vibe). I’ve been to 22+ countries solo, hung out with everyone from fish farmers to billionaires to government officials — never once had a bad interaction with anyone. I was never harmed. Never saw or was exposed to any bad behavior. I naively thought the horror stories we hear about in the news were outliers & rare exceptions. No system is perfect. Bad actors do exist. And bad things do happen to good ppl. But even then, I still operated under the belief that most ppl in the world were good/ kind. I thought in bad situations, someone would step up and do the right thing when it really mattered. I was wrong. What I didn’t realize: - Transparent systems can be weaponized. - Bad actors can hijack even government compliance tools to monitor, threaten, and force obedience. - When every conversation and transaction is tracked, how do you fund defense or even ask for help? - When people in power are willing to risk everything to win, where do you go? I always thought: I’ve never broken the law, I have nothing to hide. Now I realize privacy isn’t just for people with “something to hide” — it’s for the vulnerable. It’s the only way for ppl who are in need to get help without being punished for it. And here’s the other hard truth: most people are “good,” but strong enough incentives will make them look the other way & even support bad actors. Very few will walk away from money or put themselves at risk for what’s right. That’s why bad actors win. Me? I have an abundance mindset. There are infinite ways to make money. Infinite ways to lead a good life. I’ll never compromise my values — why waste years of my life and reputation chasing something misaligned? There are opportunities everywhere. Takeaway: - Privacy matters because the world has far more vulnerable people — and far more abuses of power — than I ever realized. - Transparency still matters too. It keeps a spotlight on bad actors. - Compliance tools? Necessary at times, but too easily abused. No perfect solution, but the tension between privacy and transparency deserves way more attention. Shout-out to @charleslu1 @benafisch @benediktbuenz @jillgun @m_mosier_ @guyitz @GuyZys @clairekart @Zac_Aztec @zooko @jswihart @PrivacyEthereum @web3privacy @privacyguardia @VitalikButerin @ameensol @RAILGUN_Project for advancing encryption and driving the privacy space forward. I'm sure there are a gazillion other ppl to thank as well, but starting here. I don't know all of you personally, but just wanted to say thanks. I didn't understand privacy before, but I'm starting to.

1/ gm. gm. Name is Hsin-Ju. I have a dark, kinda tragic personal announcement. I've decided I'd rather take $0 than accept a settlement that requires me to stay silent about what happened to me. I have since fired my lawyers at @sanfordheisler & will be releasing all the evidence from my time @hack_vc on Wed 8/26. INTRO: I've been in crypto for 9 years. Most recently I was a partner & head of platform @hack_vc which is a $600-700M crypto VC firm. Many of you may know me from my time as Head of Growth at @StellarOrg in 2017 (worked w/ the Mt. Gox founder), @Solana in 2018 (joined under ~10 ppl, but quit before my cliff), & @Fhenix in 2024. Or have attended one of my @DystopiaLabs ETH events (2019-now). Last year, I was forced to work through a serious medical emergency while at @Hack_VC due to threats by @alpackaP @dbulaevsky, saying that they would blacklist me from the space if I quit before finishing the hacksummit conference & side events that I was helping with during @kbwofficial. I was working 13-14hr days, 6 days a week, sleeping 0-4 hrs a night, and had documented Graves' disease, hyperthyroidism, and severe insomnia. I repeatedly asked to quit. Hack VC refused. This + other threats and intimidation went on for almost a month. The conditions got so bad I attempted suicide. The fucked up part is that, even after the suicide attempt, I told everyone at Hack VC (in writing) that I had no plans to sue. I was scared & extremely sick. I just wanted to leave. I told them that as long as there was no retaliation or badmouthing - I had no plans to sue. @Hack_VC chose to retaliate. After just 1 month after my near suicide, Hack VC mishandled my COBRA health insurance, refused to fix things, kept shooing me to customer support (when it's legally Hack VC's responsibility to fix this), and my insurance had issues and was not fixed for almost 4 MONTHS. Hack VC did not fix everything until I hired lawyers and had them force Hack VC to adhere to the law & fix my COBRA insurance issues. The sheer cruelty of an employer harming someone's health insurance almost immediately after they nearly committed suicide is extremely fucked up. And, even during the legal engagement, Hack VC continued to lie & attempt to harm me through their lawyers and other employees/partners (multi-million dollar carry & clawbacks can make even the nicest ppl willing to turn the other way or lie). @0xRodney @IsTheBaron @roshunpatel @Alex__Botte. Now. Almost an entire year of engagement & my near suicide anniversary coming up, our lawyers (mine & Hack VC's) have reached the point of preparing for private mediation and settlement. And...I realized that I just can't do it. I don't want money in exchange for silence. I'd rather speak. I fired my lawyers yesterday. In case it needs to be said, I did a good job at Hack VC. I was only there full time for 7 months; been part-time since 2021. I got a $50k raise to $300k, $30k bonus, and promises of additional carry that would have been implemented about a week or so after my last day. I was also offered admission into the GP entity (but not sure if admission was actually completed bc it was during my medical emergency). This + my resume, should show that me suing is not a money grab; I was genuinely harmed. I'm aware that I'm just one person (who is not rich) facing a $600-700M VC institution. I've been told by @alpackaP that he's known most of the managing partners at most VC firms for almost a decade and he could absolutely blacklist me. I'm also painful aware that the conclusion of this will probably be extremely poor for me or death - but I've accepted it. Sharing with other web2 & web3 VCs: @paulg @ycombinator @500STARTUPS @a16zcrypto @PanteraCapital @dragonflyvc @RaceCapital @hosseeb @haunventures @hiFramework @ElectricCapital @blockchaincap @Delphi_Digital @variantfund @1kxnetwork @archetypevc @shimacapital @robotventures, etc. TLDR; I’m done with continued threats, pressure, and intimidation. I'm not going to take a payout and allow Alex or Hack VC to walk away from harming me. As mentioned, I'll be dropping the evidence from my case on Wed 8/26 (or before) -- privacy be damned. Some personal news: I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined @hack_vc as a partner & head of platform. 8 yrs in crypto = a lifetime. It all started in 2017 when a random recruiter slid into my DMs and told me about a job at @StellarOrg. I took a call with @JedMcCaleb (founder of Mt.Gox, Ripple, and Stellar) & Brit (co-founder of Lightyear). That was where I learned about (and fell in love with) crypto. I decided right then and there that I was going to enter the space whether they hired me or not. So 😂-- I offered Stellar a 1 month contract and told them they could pay me whatever they wanted, but that I was going to perform so well that they'd want to hire me at the end of the contract. Obviously, they accepted. 1 month later, they promoted me to head of growth & my crypto journey began. After I left Stellar, @edithyeung & @chrismccann introed me to @rajgokal @toly from @solana. I met them very, very early when Solana was still at the whitepaper stage and had just gotten accepted into @500GlobalVC. I was with them as their head of growth till right before they launched their testnet. Then, after that, I did a short stint at Tezos (😅), burned out, and decided to found my own startup @DystopiaLabs which was focused around building dev ecosystems + running events. I made a lot of good frens & threw a total of 17 ETH conferences around the world. Special thanks to @clairekart @Cameron_Dennis_ @ekang426 @Minittowinit @levychain @Sim_Pop @YalorMewn @VanessaGrellet_ @cryptomastery_ @StaniKulechov @LukeYoungblood @beechainstack @pet3rpan_ @marek_ @sui414 and so, so many more for supporting or speaking at our events over the yrs 🙏♥️ Most recently, I was @fhenix which is an FHE infrastructure project created by @guyitz @GuyZys. I joined when the whitepaper was released & was with them till their second testnet. TLDR I'm very bullish on the future of the FHE category & knowing the team -- think they're very well positioned to succeed 🚀. As for what’s next... I'll be diving head first into venture capital 👀. If you're a founder or a dev working on cool shit, I'll be in SF for @ethereumsf & the Stanford AI Summit. Slide into my DMs if you'd like to catch up (or want some marketing feedback) ✨

These are the faces of a few @hack_vc team members. Before her death, Hsin-Ju publicly spoke about what she alleged happened to her at Hack VC describing extreme pressure, threats, intimidation and working through a serious medical crisis… She explicitly wrote that she believed the situation could end in “death” and refused a settlement that would require her to stay silent about what happened to her (probably she was being blackmailed too) She was found dead shortly after that tweet My condolences to @hsinju family and friends. Let’s not forget @hack_vc and the projects they are behind ever again Some of the biggest companies and protocols working with Hack VC may not even know what she publicly alleged. Let’s make sure they see and stop working with them. @Bybit_Official @BybitEU @CrusoeAI @SuiNetwork @Stable @Morpho @avax @berachain Who else should be tagged? ‼️
The day after she made this post, she was found dead Hsin-Ju was one of the nicest people I met and made this industry feel inclusive May you rest in peace @hsinju 💜

Next time an airdrop feels unfair or a project makes you feel scammed, remember that there are much darker sides to this industry 🙁 A few important details about what happened: - Hsin-Ju Chuang, former Hack VC partner, was found dead on August 24 near I-15 in California’s Mojave Desert. She was 37. - Her cause of death has not been determined yet and remains under investigation - Shortly before her death, she publicly accused Hack VC of serious workplace pressure and said she had rejected a settlement that would have kept the dispute private - She said she planned to release evidence related to the dispute on August 26. - Hack VC has disputed her account, and no connection between her allegations and her death has been established The circumstances and timeline deserve a proper, transparent investigation. @CryptoTimes_io RIP Hsin-Ju 🕊️ Read her last post below

Jack Butcher just revealed what happens next with his $8 experiment and the math is kind of ridiculous. The final supply being used for Credits is 122,154. At first that sounded insane compared to Checks, which started with “only” 16,031 pieces. Jack has now revealed the second part: Burn 80 Credits → create 1 Statement Maximum possible supply: 1,526 Statements But now we have this: 1,526 × 80 = 122,080 Credits burned Meaning if every possible Statement gets created, only 74 original Credits survive. The market basically has to decide between keeping the art or destroying 80 pieces to create something much scarcer.. So now everyone is waiting to see their art, figure out what is actually rare and decide: Assembly opens in 8 days, we will see.

HOW TO GRADE JACK BUTCHER’S CREDITS What ~13K sales tell us + some admittedly dubious price guesses If you’re just tuning in... Jack launched an open edition through X Money You sent $8, include an ETH address & the transaction ID became the seed for one Credit The ID becomes four 8×8 CMYK grids, payment time selects the layers & literal 8s register visually Final supply: 122,154 Credits Each Credit is a complete artwork, but collectors can also burn 80 to assemble one Statement Statement assembly opens eight days after launch with a maximum possible supply of 1,526 ━━ WHERE THINGS STAND ━━ When I last checked, OpenSea had indexed: ▷ 60,865 of 122,154 Credits ▷ 12,621 sales ▷ 507Ξ volume ▷ 0.0318Ξ floor Less than half has arrived, so this is very early price discovery OpenSea ranks are basically useless while indexing continues Grade the traits, not the current rank ━━ MARKET SIGNALS ━━ EIGHTS are the clearest rarity signal ▷ Five Eights: 1 ▷ Four: 26 ▷ Three: 398 ▷ Two: 4,238 ▷ One: 27,996 ▷ None: 89,495 The first ~13K sales show a clean price ladder: ▷ Four Eights: 1.50Ξ median ▷ Three: 0.28Ξ ▷ Two: 0.062Ξ ▷ One: 0.0353Ξ ▷ None: 0.035Ξ The Five-Eights one-of-one is unlisted with a 4.5 WETH offer Three Four-Eights sales have cleared at 1Ξ, 1.5Ξ & 1.81Ξ One means little financially so far Two gets attention Three gets serious Four or Five is trophy territory Outside EIGHTS, two traits show a repeatable premium: ▷ Extreme Weight: 0.068Ξ median, 1.02% supply ▷ Loose Print: 0.058Ξ median, 0.80% supply Four Plates / full CMYK looks great, but its 0.037Ξ median is barely above the broad 0.0353Ξ market ━━ MY GRADING SCALE ━━ S+ | Five Eights The one-of-one S | Four Eights Only 26 exist A | Three Eights 398 exist with early sales reaching 0.8Ξ B | Two Eights, Extreme or Loose Stack two and I’d consider moving it up a grade C | Drift, CMYK or a genuinely great composition COMMON | Zero or One Eight with common Print and Weight traits Still complete artworks & still raw material for Statements Visual quality matters inside every tier ━━ SPECULATION ━━ This is unreliable, probably wrong & obviously the fun part My short-term guess is the common floor gets messier before it gets cleaner Another ~61,300 Credits must arrive, so commons could hit 0.02Ξ–0.03Ξ as large allocations land Then Statement assembly becomes the counterforce At a 0.0318Ξ floor, acquiring 80 Credits costs roughly 2.54Ξ (~$7,000) before gas If collectors want Statements, cheap Credits become raw material My admittedly optimistic ranges once distribution settles, assembly opens, and the quest to collect 80 grows: ▷ Commons: 0.05Ξ–0.10Ξ ▷ Two Eights: 0.10Ξ–0.20Ξ ▷ Extreme or Loose: 0.15Ξ–0.25Ξ ▷ Three Eights: 0.50Ξ–1Ξ+ ▷ Four Eights: 2Ξ–5Ξ+ ▷ Five Eights: wherever one determined collector decides it belongs The Five already has a 4.5 WETH offer Since everything revolves around 8, someone will surely try to manufacture an 8Ξ or 8.88Ξ headline Statements are harder to guess With an 80-Credit replacement cost near 2.54Ξ, a 3Ξ–5Ξ opening conversation feels obvious But original participants could have acquired 80 Credits for only $640 Some will think in replacement cost, others in cost basis That gap should create absolute chaos when assembly opens So it honestly could be that I’m being way too conservative on such an iconic and historic collection My bull case is the market splits into three lanes: ▷ Commons priced around Statement demand ▷ Rare Credits priced as standalone art ▷ Statements priced as the scarce assembled layer The bear case is simple Supply overwhelms buyers, too few burn 80 & prices drift toward the original $8 entry, but I doubt that happens Way too early to know where it settles But the first receipts are already telling us where collectors are looking Good luck everyone, and have fun collecting these beauties

Let me get this straight. @jackbutcher just dropped a new burn mechanic on his $8 @XMoney nft mint. -Every payment = unique art/rarity Credit. -Burn 80 to mint a Statement (max 1526 possible). -122k supply now, but burning creates real scarcity + trading game. Checks started the same way ($8 mint & 16k supply) It ran up to $4,750 ATH. Opepen hit $1,900 ATH This one has tighter final supply + bull market heat Additionally it was limited to USA and verified accounts only. His original post got over 4 million views. Statements could print way higher. Game theory is live. If you minted all 50 before hitting the rate limit and these hit a $5,000 floor you successfully just secured a roughly ~$250,000 in profit. For a literal QR code.
