2026 is the year Starknet officially shifted toward revenue-generating activity. The early results are starting to show: annualized revenue is up ~1,200% YoY. 2026 is also the first year Starknet has become profitable. And that matters beyond simply having a positive bottom line: it shows the network is starting to build an economic engine that can sustain its own growth. For years, the industry has largely optimized for TVL, incentives, users, and narratives. But sustainable revenue is what turns a blockchain from infrastructure people speculate on into an economy that can sustain itself: more activity → more fees → more revenue → more resources to grow the network. Ultimately, a network needs real economic activity. And Starknet is now profitable and accelerating on the revenue side. All of this before StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation have even launched their first DeFi products. Still a long way to go, definitely. But the engine is starting to turn.
