I am an idealist at heart, and I would love to believe that simple politics can resolve these issues. Unfortunately I am also a realist and historian, and I realize that the only way "politics" solves the issues is if the politicians fear the people more than they love the benefits of the various foreign and elitist influences.

I would add, end lobbying, ban congressional stock trading, prohibit campaign money from outside the district being represented, and break the two-party duopoly. Fix the incentives, and the policy starts fixing itself.
