Isaias is expected to near major hurricane status before a Friday Gulf Coast approach. Lopsided impacts along and east of the center include heavy rain, wind, tornadoes, and some storm surge potential. Check your hurricane kits and more updates to come. #FLwx #ALwx #GAwx

This might sound trite, but living just a few miles the Gulf Coast myself, the best preparedness is to move to New Mexico. Kidding aside, I hope Isaias weakens, because I have family in Destin. Everyone be safe!

Here's how the GRAF Model is depicting future Tropical Storm (possibly hurricane) Isaias...see my previous post for the latest discussion. #lawx #Isaias

Just by pure intuition, I'm guessing a 90mph storm making landfall on the AL/FL border, with all the wx to the east of that point, and a HUGE dry slot to its SW and W. Just my speculation.....

The National Hurricane Center now calls for a 100% chance of #Isaias forming in the Gulf. A cone and watches are coming later today or tonight. All residents from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle should be on alert with a hurricane threat coming on Friday or Saturday. 🌀

Just my two cents, but those red arrows need to be a tad east of where they're pointing. Slidell to Pensacola is where the models are hinting.

ISAIAS IS FORMING - Gulf Coast residents from SE LA to the Florida Panhandle need to be on alert for a tropical impact Friday into Saturday. Way early to get into specifics for each location but wind, rain, surge and tornadoes will all be possible. #lawx

Model guidance is starting to hone for #92L, could make a run for Cat 2-3 if these trends continue, but will discuss more on the live stream

The wind-shear storm shredder will be lurking in the N Gulf. It "should" eviscerate the storm, but we can't be sure. If Isaias explodes into a cat 4-5 early on, it could create its own UL environment....but I'm thinking it's gonna get the atmospheric Marie-Antoinette treatment.

100% of tropical development by the NHC and the Google Deep Mind Model! Expect the National Hurricane Center to start issuing updates for a Potential Tropical Cyclone this afternoon or tonight that will very likely become Tropical Storm Isaias by tomorrow. Most tropical models and the Google Deep Mind model have Isaias becoming potentially a Cat 1 hurricane with some weakening prior to a North Gulf Coast landfall perhaps on Saturday or Saturday night. While it's still too early to forecast landfall area and intensity, tropical models are pointing toward anywhere from Southeast Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, with the Google AI model farther east in its cluster and closer to the FL Panhandle. While this system may quickly organize into a hurricane, it will be broadening and likely entraining drier air and getting involved with upper level shear as it approaches the Gulf Coast...and could weaken to tropical storm strength right before landfall...but folks should prepare for the possibility of hurricane conditions from SE LA to the FL Panhandle for Saturday or maybe into Sunday...timing could still change too. We have to watch for those stronger upper winds near the Gulf Coast, as sometimes that can temporarily fan the outflow of a storm and make it briefly stronger, so a Cat 2 is on the table too, and per the Google Deep Mind model the median peak winds of 91kts/105mph is forecast in 72 hours/Friday. I would expect this to be a lopsided system at landfall with the strongest winds and heaviest rains mostly in the northern amd eastern semicircle of the storm that would leave Acadiana on the better side of this system. Nonetheless, there's a decent chance for some tropical rain bands and embedded storms to wrap around into our area this weekend, primarily Saturday...stay tuned as we'll have more info this afternoon/evening once an official system is identified by the NHC. #lawx #Isaias

They might fare pretty well! If this is a "Bertha-esque" lopsided system, the point of landfall might have little more than a breezy day!

Looks like AI generated outlooks are gonna soon be given more weight, than "just hallucinations." GDM called this DAYS ahead. I'm very interested in how this pans out over the coming years. BTW, Rob....how many e's in "seventeen?" lol (AI dad joke)

Odds increasing for tropical development in the Southwestern Gulf this week...still early for estimating path, intensity and breadth of impacts. This system will fester in the SW Gulf through at least Wednesday and then perhaps make a north-northeastward run toward the Gulf Goast, particularly the Northeast Gulf areas by Friday, per the latest Google Deep Mind Model, which gives this disturbance (92L) a 90% chance of making tropical storm strength roughly late Wednesday. Also including how the GRAF Model sees this system becoming rather robust into Wednesday. Upper atmospheric conditions across the Northern Gulf Coast later this week will be hostile to any approaching system, but per the models 92L may gain some decent strength welll into medium to higher tropical storm intensity before it makes it move to the north/northeast. At this point, it's too early to call with any accuracy where a nascent (developing) system may go but climatology and initial model data suggest biggest rain, some wind impacts will be felt potentially from extreme Southeastern Louisiana eastward, targeting more like MS/AL/FL into this weekend. Next name up is our old hard to pronounce "Isaias" (ees-ah-EE-ahs) which is on the 6 year rotational list! Will have more when latest suite of data comes in this afternoon. #lawx #92L

You think you know how it's going to go....but then mother nature throws you a curveball....that said - the UL environment is going to be hostile to whatever develops.

I don't "get" Rush. Geddy Lee just screams, in an annoying nasal shriek that sounds as much to me like nuclear-powered fingernails on a chalkboard. If I had to describe his voice in a few words as possible it would be "8 grit sandpaper without the nuance."

That said, I do admire Geddy Lee as an artist. He chose his way and declared it loudly. That is admirable, though I do not like it.

I answered "consider..." because Serling taught from a very young age to think, to independently arrive at conclusions through very careful consideration. He's a literary giant...a GENIUS, who was instrumental in my ability to see realities from differing vantage points as valid.

As a gay man, let me give you some free "focus-group" advice. I don't care what your sexual orientation is, and it's perfectly normal for a straight man to find another man aesthetically pleasing, but not sexually arousing. The "no-homo" trope is lowkey insulting, ICYMI.

Nine years ago today, we lost Tom Petty...He was one hell of a songwriter, musician, and a true rock n' roll legend. There was something special about Tom Petty. He was the kind of artist who never needed to be anything other than himself. His music was honest, raw, and real, and that’s exactly why he meant so much to so many people. Nine years later, he is still deeply missed. Rest easy, Tom...You left behind one hell of a legacy...🖤🎤🎸
