SEPTA crews are currently working hard to get these ready for service. This includes installing a Positive Train Control system, shortening exterior doors to accommodate higher platforms, and (as you can see) changing the signage from French to English!
The Exo coach cars will operate with #SEPTAโs existing push/pull locomotives and join the ten railcars leased from Maryland Area Regional Commuter Rail (MARC) last November.
Funding for the purchase of the railcars comes from the nearly $220 million in
additional capital dollars allocated by Governor Josh Shapiro in November 2025 to support urgent safety upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
