Syria as it exists now is a failed state. It does not exist. Jolani rules Damascus and the surrounding area, the rest of the country is ruled by warlords who are nominally loyal to him.
Basic utilities are semi-functional. Civil infrastructure is nearly non existent. There is no military, because the moment the SAA collapsed, the IDF bombed the shit out of it: there is no air defense, no strategic weaponry, no navy, barely an air force (which the Israelis just bombed again). The IDF control parts of southern Syria where they’re building military bases and settlements, they put curfews on the Syrians, and they randomly arrest and hand even killed people, while Jolani does nothing.
Non-Sunnis are open targets: besides the open slaughterfest that happened in January of 2025 on the coast, where Jolanis men *filmed themselves* murdered Alawite women and children, you have the problem of Alawite, Druze, and Christians being harassed, attacked, kidnapped and held for ransom, or in some cases just killed.
Right now the current government is totally subservient to Israel and the Americans. With the fall of Assad came the end of the last Arab nation with any shred of sovereignty in the Levant.
Every part of the so-called ‘blessed revolution’ against Al-Assad was built and created by Israel and its allies: from the initial violence in the first protests, to the so called ‘free Syrian army’, to Jolani now. Israel, America, the cursed Turks, and their damnable gulf Arab slaves created and supported Salafist militants for the simple goal of destabilizing and destroying Syria.
And Syria proved a larger point about Sunni militants and Sunnis in general (save for those in Palestine): they have betrayed the Palestinian and could care less about us. I’ll quote a post by
@baronitaigas which I think is the ultimate truth nuke:
“Sunni hatred of Israel is largely performative, as has been demonstrated by the massive number of jihadists who spend their time attacking minorities rather than Israel.
This speaks to the general cowardice of the Sunnis. They know full well that Israel has the capability to militarily defeat virtually any country where they make up the majority. We don't need yet another round of Arab-Israeli wars to demonstrate this.
However, beating Christians to death in isolated villages in the Congo? Putting bombs in Coptic churches? Butchering Alawites as young as 6 years old after murdering their parents in front of them? These things don't carry the same consequences.
The world has seen yet again the vileness of this cowardly lust for blood. Nothing on earth dulls the impact of Israeli atrocities in Gaza more than the demonstrated, personal and sadistic violence inflicted on other faiths by Sunnis across the Muslim world. It is a disgrace.
And to those who would respond "those are extremists!", well, that might be a credible defense were it not for the AVALANCHE of Sunnis online from Holland to Qatar who out of one side of their mouths celebrate such murders, and out of the other deny they are even occurring.”
Bashar Al-Assad was a hero and so far as I’m concerned, he didn’t go far enough. What his father did in Hama 40 years ago, he should have done to Idlib in 2018, and I’m sorry he didn’t.
I can't stand seeing people support Assad. There's many ill-informed Westerners who still do this today.
We will never forget the horrors our Syrian families went through.
Alhamdulillah he is gone.
