4th for 10k. A winning session, and made a little day 2 that I get to play in 2 weeks.
Good bye Vegas (on wed), will be back for WPT champ in December!
Got to love @WSOPOnlinePoker and charging extra rake for online bracelet events. $450 + $50 and $900+ $100 rather than the standard $467 and $950.
Make you dig in lobby to find it too
Most people aren't aware. This is a mistake; rake should always be transparent and obvious. So, at a minimum I think WSOP should relist their buyins with all fees in one line. Ideally, I also think WSOP should lower the rake %s to be closer to their summer levels
The fees are not only high compared to industry standards (especially at the higher end of buyins), they're also significantly higher compared with their own events from the summer
Looking in the app, what would you assume is the portion of this buyin going back to the players? If you thought $25,000, you'd be incorrect. That's because the 4% staff fee at the bottom isn't referring to the $1,000. Instead, it's taken out of the $25,000; it's a $24k+$1k+$1k
The rake at @WSOP Paradise is a lot higher than most people think, because the way that the buyins are listed in the app doesn't reflect an additional 3-5% staff fee. While WSOP technically discloses this fee, it's still not obvious what they're doing (1/x)
It is absolutely incredible that the president of the United States still has no idea what a trade deficit is.
If I go to the grocery store & spend $30 on vegetables, I haven't "LOST" $30. I’ve gained vegetables I’d otherwise have to grow myself. Staggering economic illiteracy.
"If we stopped Trading with every country that we have a Deficit with...we would make, at least 1.5 Trillion Dollars a year." (Your explanations in the comments please)
Thanks Ian.
It's a bit insane how much they think it matters to throw these one-off mega events with 8-figure guarantees where they need 2.5+ bullets per person to get there.
We absolutely don't need any of that + I'm betting the majority of players don't want it either.
Hey everyone I'm working with HotHand.Ai. It's a friendly and easy way for people new to poker studying, it is in early beta testing and they need people to test it out.
They are giving away gift-cards for feedback!
To use it you'll 1st take a poker quiz:
Then you'll do a 5 hand Quiz to better understand that concept!

Finally, after 14 months of uncertainty, my fix to restore the 100% tax deduction for gambling losses has been passed out of committee.
I was the first Member of Congress to recognize this injustice when I introduced my provision to correct it on July 7, 2025. Since then, I have amplified this issue nationally and brought it to the attention of my colleagues, including members of @WaysandMeansGOP.
Now it is time for us to push this commonsense solution to the House floor, to the Senate, and finally to the President’s desk. I won’t stop fighting until we get this over the finish line.
Breaking: the big tax bill with a provision to repeal the 90% cap on gambling losses was just overwhelmingly voted through, with bipartisan support, to the House Rules Committee. It’s a technical step before it goes to the House floor for a full vote.
The 90% cap on gambling losses would be repealed retroactive to 1/1/26 as part of the Ways & Means tax bill.
Joint Committee on Taxation estimates a negative impact on revenue of $2 billion from ‘27-36 from this repeal.
The ‘27-34 estimate is $1.5 billion, up 33% from its $1.1 billion estimate during same period.
Wonder if this means estimated tax payments from gamblers were higher than anticipated?
