In July, I sent a letter to @JosephMLombardo calling on him to pause state tax abatements for data centers on public lands until the 2027 Nevada Legislature had an opportunity to review the issue. I am glad that the Governor is recognizing the need for these projects to pay into our education system and contribute to our community. The larger issue, though, is whether we want to provide tax breaks to an industry that could strain our limited water resources and create large new demands on our electrical grid.
