I mean like expanding NATO, unilaterally withdrawing from ABM, seeking to expand missile defense including in Poland, backing for the Rose & Orange Revolutions, misusing the UN Security Council resolution on Libya to become regime change more than humanitarian in nature in 2011 despite Russia's acquiescence supporting the latter, etc. before we ever get to Maidan.
All of those undermined, in different ways, room for trust between Russia & the US.
The bottom line is that there is enough blame for both sides to point fingers.
You can agree with each & everyone of those American actions, though I do not, & still recognize how they could have negative influence on Russian perceptions which, given the strange mix of Russian chauvinism mixed with insecurity, is almost inherently volatile
