With strong winds and heavy rain expected from the approaching nor’easter, power outages are possible across Rhode Island. If you use a generator, always operate it outdoors and at least 20 feet away from your home, doors, windows, and vents. Never use a generator inside a home, garage, basement, or other enclosed space due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Make sure your carbon monoxide alarms are working and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
