Oh this is an easy one: The Democrats weren’t trying to overturn an election. Hope you found this explanation helpful.
Look at Jack Smith’s list. There is one thing that is consistent: every name on it is a Republican. Is it a crime to be a Republican? Is it a crime to write a check to Republicans? No. Jack Smith used his investigation as an excuse to engage in a massive fishing expedition to target Republicans.

No Schmitt.
Just like that, the term “Schmitt head” is now part of our political lexicon. As in, when you are an ignoramus, make up crap about somebody else, and get disproven in real time, you are a Schmitt head. Relatedly, the moment you are disproven, you Schmitt your pants. #GOP

Calling the Jack Smith investigation illegal would be much more effective if one of the many courts, including the Supreme Court, had thrown out the indictment. Since the indictments were never thrown out they were legitimate.

Eric Schmitt was a backbencher…a real nobody until yesterday when he showed how ridiculously ignorant&vile he is. And poof! Now he’s a rising star in GOP. Jumped2being mentioned as potential VP nominee in 2028? It’s sad how rank stupidity&vileness launch fools2prominence in GOP.

Passion and leadership!
Lawrence O’Donnell just showed Sen. Cory Booker’s fiery remarks at today’s Senate hearing. 🔥🔥🔥 I gotta say Booker was magnificent! This is a snippet, but it’s a good sampling of how fantastic Booker’s scathing takedown of Senate Republicans was. A shining moment for Booker!

I'm following the CNN, MSNow, and Politico hearing against the DOJ. I'm finding myself emotional as I do. A lot of what I post on here is how to counter Trump behaviorally and part of that is not capitulating. By now, everyone knows that the Press Pool stood up in unison in support of its brethren. But did you know that 50 media entities signed an Amicus Brief in support of them before the court today? My emotion is on several levels. One, goosebumps at the solidarity. Second, disdain for the arguments being made by the DOJ. Third, the microcosm of what this is - this case is a perfect square-off between Democracy and Authoritarianism, between one of our most venerated institutions and State dominance and control. The State is NOT dominant. The People are. The State is NOT in control. The People are. Vote them out in November. ALL of them. Neuter him.

This is truly a great man. He has invested more in Ukraine than 185 countries combined. Meet Howard Buffett, Warren Buffett’s middle son. He is 71 years old. He dropped out of college three times. He drinks Dr Pepper and looks for a McDonald’s wherever he travels. Since the beginning of the war, his foundation has become the largest private donor to Ukraine: $1.4 billion. Over four years, he has personally visited Ukraine 27 times. In April 2022, he saw burned-out agricultural machinery and called the president of John Deere: “How many combines are available in Europe?” “Fifteen. All of them were supposed to go to Russia.” “I’ll take them all.” Then came all the available New Holland equipment in Europe. Altogether, more than 100 tractors and combines were provided to Ukrainian farmers. He even tested demining equipment himself - on his own farm in Illinois, detonating explosives beneath rollers. When a Ukrainian deputy minister expressed doubts, Buffett told him: “Stop counting my tractors. If necessary, I’ll blow up a thousand of them.” Andriy Stavnitser initially asked him for $1 million for Superhumans. Buffett asked how much was needed to build the entire center. “$14 million.” “Okay. And what do you expect in return?” “Nothing. Build it.” Today, his support for Superhumans has reached $77 million, and the center has treated more than 1,700 patients. But his largest area of spending is neither agricultural machinery nor prosthetics. It is food: 642 million meals. And that is only part of it: * 344,000 windows replaced after Russian attacks; * 9 bridges, 4 power plants, 2,500 generators, and 18 DNA laboratories; * Much of Bucha rebuilt with his funding. “I already have more friends in Ukraine than I do at home,” he says. He celebrates birthdays in Ukraine, comes for Christmas, and even has a Ukrainian godson. Friends, this is truly a great man - someone who understands that he cannot take all his money with him when he leaves this world. I simply want to thank him and wish him well. Whatever else one may say, this is real help from a person who had no personal obligation to Ukraine. He simply chose to help. Source: translated from the original text by Oleh Bairak.

My fellow Americans: Please direct your attention to this matter for just a moment. Allow this to sink in. The President of the United States of America just said he wants to ban the free press. He said he doesn’t want them in his office, which by the way is the Oval Office in the People’s House. This is unheard of, and we the people cannot let this be! For the record, we have a free press in this country. For the record we should all be worried not just about this latest outburst, but by all of it going forward without permission — putting our service members in harms way, raising tariffs willy nilly, threatening buildings and institutions unless his name gets put on them. This is not the behavior of a centered leader who is focused on the good of the people. This is not the behavior of a compassionate leader focused on the millions of Americans who cannot afford healthcare, childcare, gas, or food. This is not the behavior of a man who can emotionally regulate himself. We should all be concerned — those who voted for him and those who didn’t. The midterms are around the corner. Vote like your life and the lives of others are at stake, because they are. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Do not write off the South! Scott Colom can win in Mississippi. He needs resources to compete. The Democratic Party must invest in Black voters and the South. Remember: The pundits didn’t think we could win in Georgia until we did. punchbowl.news/article/campa…

It's a good time to restate: Trump CANNOT and DOES NOT see beyond himself - EVER. He is NOT strategic - he is transactional. He does not think, he feels. He's an amalgamation of impulses and cravings. Freud would call him a "human id." He is now owned by his disorders. What I mean by that, is that his impulses and cravings outweigh even his self-interests. This is why it often seems as though he is trying to lose. He simply cannot pivot, he will almost always double down, and he can never shut up or stop. In his mind, there is no you or me. There is no America. There are no high prices. There is no future. There is only him, right now. There is only his grandiosity, his impulses, his cravings, and his reality. And if you're not reporting his reality, stay away. This is a dangerous malignant narcissist, impatient and defiant, fearful of his own mortality, frustrated that he's no longer able to force-feed his concocted reality, and terrified that all he is and all he ever said he was, could be exposed and crumble like a House of Cards. He is in decline, he WILL get worse, and - note to Republicans - he will NOT want to go down alone.
