Bit the bullet. Finally. Gotta do some research before picking where I’m off to next for my music🕵🏻‍♀️

My priority is finding a platforms that pays artists decently compared to the others and I think Tidal might be one of the better ones for that 👀

Physical media of your favorites. Many libraries have thousands of CDs. Rip the stuff to your computer transfer to your phone.

I tried YT Music and within a month I found myself reaching for 3rd party apps because native one really didn't work well. Realized it wasn't the right fit. Tidal just seemed overboard for what I needed and I wasn't a fan. Plu* the apps felt lacking to me as well, great quality though! Spotify was too expensive too these days. You could sail the seven seas (or use your own CDs) and use players, but for me it's about discovery too and I like real sources because of that. Funny enough, I landed on Apple Music after months of going through options. I still find Spotify user experience better and there's some gripes I have about Apple Music, but it's genuinely the closest and best experience I could find.

Yup, I've been using Tidal too, a solid choice; although definitely a desktop app needs more polish, it's just a web wrapper, even shows typical cookie warnings in the EU

Dont know if you are still looking but here is a good comparison by @theneedledrop youtube.com/watch?v=x6x5t0cj… its 9 months old at this point but should be informative regardless.

YouTube music is the only answer, only £1 more than Spotify and includes ad free YouTube, it also has the biggest range of music. They also let you import your playlists from any major platform free of charge.

YouTube Music of course... because it's YouTube and every song is on there. Sure the website and the app are really bad, but whatever :)

Okay, I'll bite. What's wrong with Spotify?

Moved from Spotify to Tidal in December to try and distance myself from Spotify's weapons manufacturing sponsorship. Tidal is... okay. It's missing all the social features and doesn't sync between devices, so you can't control one with the other. There are some playback issues. +
