I've not seen a single post from a Reform supporter thanking ITV for helping them rid themselves of some horrible "Bad Apples". I wonder why.

Warning: Distressing and graphic language A Reform councillor from South London has been recorded calling for King Charles to be decapitated because he “is a Muslim”, while another senior Reform councillor from Solihull said of Asian people: “drag out of their homes, stick them on planes and **** them off to Pakistan.” It’s part of an undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK. Councillor Dean Miller told us he was heavily medicated at the time due to a chronic pain condition and has since resigned from Reform. Councillor Raymond Dunning did not respond to our request for comment. In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed." "Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations." Watch ‘Undercover: A Year in Reform’ on ITV1 & ITVX from 10:20pm on Sunday

This is an extraordinarily disingenuous post from @Helen_Whately. Let's be absolutely clear about what she's comparing here. This isn't someone simply signed off sick. To reach that £27,400 figure, the claimant would need to qualify for substantial disability support, including enhanced PIP for both daily living and mobility, alongside Universal Credit health support and thousands in housing assistance. We're talking about someone with significant disability-related needs, not your average person off work with a sick note. And PIP isn't even an unemployment benefit. You can receive it while working! But here's where we should flip the argument... If SIX MILLION full-time workers are earning less than this carefully constructed example, why isn't Whately asking why millions of people are being paid so little? Why aren't we talking about employers paying poverty wages, the soaring cost of housing, or an economy in which working full-time increasingly fails to deliver financial security? And why aren't we scrutinising the extraordinary concentration of wealth at the top, rather than attacking some of the most vulnerable people in society? It's far easier to turn struggling workers against disabled people than to confront the economic system that's failing them both. That's the real scandal here.
Shocking new report from @csjthinktank To earn more than someone on sickness benefits you now need to make £33,000. That’s more than 50 hours a week on minimum wage – and 6 million hardworking taxpayers are earning less. Under this Labour government Benefit Street is booming. Only the Conservatives have a plan to tackle this crisis and get Britain working again.

Here is the simplest way to understand how the populist politics of the likes of Reform and Restore work: Imagine 200 people are waiting for NHS treatment. One is an illegal migrant. You convince the other 199 that the reason they cannot get better access to the NHS is that one person. Suddenly, you don’t need to propose policies addressing decades of underinvestment, workforce shortages, capacity problems and inefficiencies. You just announce a policy to deport that one migrant and present it as the solution. Now apply the same logic to crime. Constantly highlight crimes involving migrants until people start to believe that migrants are responsible for crime generally. Then, when people ask how you will solve crime, the answer is simple: deport the migrants. Housing? Blame migrants. Public services? Blame migrants. Pressure on infrastructure? Blame migrants. The appeal is obvious. Complex problems that require complicated, expensive and sometimes uncomfortable solutions are reduced to a single identifiable group that can be blamed. But then you add another part to the strategy. You relentlessly attack the government that is actually trying to deal with those underlying problems. First, you claim they are doing nothing about migration, even when the available statistics show that migration & asylum numbers are falling. When that same government makes difficult decisions to address the wider structural problems, such as raising taxes to fund public services, you present those decisions as an attack on ordinary British people. So you create a perfect political trap. Blame the migrant for the problem. Blame the government for not removing the migrant. Blame the government again when it takes the difficult decisions necessary to address the real underlying issues. By the time the population have voted you into power, it's too late for them to realise you didn't actually have any viable policies. You now have all the power and you can start delivering on all the promises you made to your wealthy donors, and those who voted you in are left scratching their heads, wondering why everything got even worse.

LJE, I have checked the figure, and there is an important distinction here. ⠀ Roughly 30p in every £100 of total Government spending is a reasonable approximation if you mean the Home Office spending line for asylum support, resettlement and accommodation. ⠀ 30p out of £100 is 0.3%. ⠀ But calling that the cost of the “illegal immigrants system” is misleading. ⠀ It includes people awaiting asylum decisions, accommodation and support, and resettlement programmes. They are not all people who have been legally determined to be in Britain unlawfully. ⠀ There is also another side to the financial equation which is very often omitted. ⠀ The last comprehensive HMRC nationality figures showed non-UK nationals paying £53.2 billion in Income Tax and National Insurance in a single year. ⠀ That was equivalent to roughly £7 in every £100 of central government revenue, around 7%. ⠀ That consisted of £29.9 billion in Income Tax and £23.3 billion in National Insurance. ⠀ In the same HMRC analysis, those receipts exceeded the tax credits and Child Benefit paid to non-UK nationals by about £47.2 billion. ⠀ That does NOT mean immigration produced a £47.2 billion overall fiscal surplus. ⠀ That comparison does not include every tax paid or every public service used. ⠀ Nor am I suggesting that 0.3% and 7% are directly comparable figures. They relate to different years and different populations. One concerns asylum-related expenditure, while the other concerns tax receipts from all non-UK nationals. ⠀ But that is precisely the wider point. ⠀ You cannot calculate the financial impact of immigration by listing expenditure while pretending the revenue side does not exist. ⠀ There are two sides to a balance sheet. ⠀ Migrants work. ⠀ They earn wages. ⠀ They pay Income Tax and National Insurance. ⠀ They also pay VAT, council tax and other taxes. ⠀ And, like everybody else, they consume public services. ⠀ Some migrant groups make positive fiscal contributions and others cost more than they contribute. Age, earnings, employment and immigration route matter enormously. ⠀ So if we genuinely want to discuss the financial impact of immigration, count the costs. ⠀ Absolutely. ⠀ But count the receipts as well. ⠀ Ignoring either side produces a misleading conclusion.
If you truly believe that, then you are thick as pig shit, for every 100 pound the government spends, 30p goes towards the illegal immigrants system. The wealth is being sucked out of the uk and taken from us and it’s not by brown people on boats.

George. You appear to possess very little self awareness — a good trait for a Reform UK councillor, I'm sure, but not for day-to-day life. You caused the violent mob; therefore you pay for it. Your actions created a massive bill for your own constituents. Do you see?

Cllr Madgwick, I agree with one important point here: local residents should not be forgotten, and it would be wrong to describe every person who attended as a “thug”. Most people there were entitled to protest peacefully. ⠀ But we also need to be accurate about what actually caused much of the extraordinary scene being described. ⠀ The 149 people brought ashore were not settled in Fort Road or left wandering around Gosport. They were put onto coaches and transported outside Hampshire for processing. ⠀ What remained was a crowd of around 350 protesters and a substantial public-order operation. ⠀ Hampshire Police say officers were deployed not only to support the emergency response, but specifically to manage public-order issues, keep partner agencies safe and facilitate peaceful protest. ⠀ Twelve people were arrested. Officers were injured. There were alleged assaults, criminal damage and public-order offences, and one arrest followed an ambulance being obstructed. ⠀ So describing the police simply as “State Enforcers deployed against the people” turns cause and effect upside down. ⠀ The police did not arrive because Graham and his wife were standing peacefully outside their home. ⠀ They were there because a large demonstration had developed around an emergency operation, and because the conduct of some people required public-order measures. ⠀ That does not make every protester responsible. ⠀ It does mean the disruption cannot honestly be attributed entirely to the people brought ashore or to the Home Office. ⠀ Indeed, those people were moved out of the area for processing precisely rather than remaining in the local community. ⠀ If we genuinely care about residents such as Graham and his wife, then surely we should also acknowledge that bringing hundreds of additional people into their road, blocking vehicles, confronting police and creating a situation requiring cordons and dispersal powers adds considerably to the disruption they experience. ⠀ People have every right to oppose Government immigration policy and every right to protest peacefully. ⠀ But protesters, politicians, Government and police should each be held responsible for their own actions. ⠀ That is rather different from blaming everything visible in that photograph on the migrants.
THIS IS WHAT GOSPORT HAS BECOME! This photograph really says it all. This is Graham and his wife, local residents of Fort Road who have lived and worked in our amazing town for 75 years. This is a statement from Cllr Paul Carter, Reform UKs lead in Gosport; On Sunday night, I went to Fort Road after residents contacted me because they were frightened and concerned about what was happening. When I spoke to Graham and his wife, I initially thought their concern would be about the protesters, the barricades or the disruption. It wasn’t. They were worried about what their town had become. They stood outside their own home watching events unfold on their own road — with roads blocked, access disrupted and nails and screws left on the ground. And yet people like Graham and his wife, who have spent 75 years living and working in this community, were left feeling like their own neighbourhood had been taken away from them. They were not looking for trouble. They were not causing trouble. They were simply residents standing outside their home trying to understand what was happening. Yet the Government has used language to describe people involved in the events as “thugs”. I think we need to be very careful about painting everyone with the same brush. There were residents, protesters, police officers, emergency services and many others caught up in an extraordinary situation. And through it all, ordinary residents were left dealing with the consequences. This is their road. Their home. Their community. said: “This highlights the State Enforcers deployed against the people, blocking OUR roads and access to and from our own homes and you can even see the nails on the ground. This is what all those who voted in favour of selling the Fort Road Car Park have inflicted on us all! Importing a dystopian, apocalyptical nightmare. And remember also the Home Office ‘make no apologies’ for what they are doing. SHAME ON THEM ALL. And they still expect us to pay £66 a week in rates. And it’s only just begun. Graham has given permission for this photograph and for his name and story to be shared publicly because he wants people to understand what residents experienced. Whatever your views on the wider issue, local residents should never feel forgotten in their own town. Gosport deserves better! Our roads. Our homes. Our community. Our voice. 🇬🇧

Maybe the joke of a councillor and the Party he represents should stop and think. If he wasn't broadcasting live and identifying where migrants were beng brought to there would be a quick . safe transfer to coaches and off to Kent It is not the migrants costing the money and valuable services time it is those who disrupt the process
